Kids Volleyball Logo Help

I am coaching my daughter's volleyball rec team and I need help with cleaning up a logo. The team name is the Thunder and I want to use the below logo, but my Photoshop skills are nonexistent. If any of you Baws could help me, I am looking to have 3 things changed on it.
1. Remove the DC skyline from the top of the logo.
2. Replace Washington with Slidell and D.C. with LA (or leave blank)
3. Replace 9 Man Volleyball with just Volleyball and center it.

Looks good...anyway to clean up the tip of the lightning and use a font more similar to the Thunder?

Just right click and save the image. when I tried to save as a pdf to send, it was fuzzy the edges were not clean.
