I thought Borat 2 was average some laughs but mostly meh. Just a lot of low hanging fruit, easy targets. Oh wow racism at a far right event in a hillbilly town? Ground breaking.

I don't know anyone who has even watched the new Borat. The original one was funnyish (although hard to complete), when I was in middle school. SBC as Ali G was great though.

it's a little more volatile than i would be, but he's not wrong. i laugh at Borat type humor but i recognize it for what it is. shock value at unassuming people's expense.

dude puts people in compromising situations and has tried to ruin lives through selective editing.

rudy's a shadow of his former mayor self and a joke, but they really did edit that to make him look creepy when he was not in that situation.

I have no idea what ya'll are talking about (like with "Rudy," whoever that is - I assume Giuliani) because I've never seen it. And I'm not even saying he's wrong. But man, every other sentence of OML's post is "uniquely 'bad adjective'" and it's funny.

I thought there were a couple of decently funny parts of the original Borat movie, but all in all I didn't like it. I don't even mind "assholish" types of humor (i.e. I think Anthony Jeselnik is funny), but Borat never really did it for me at all. And I can only assume this new one is worse than the old one.

Exactly. Sacha is a sociopath. It’s one thing to ruin that neo-Nazi’s life who owned that hunting ranch in Texas, but he just goes after basically everyone and is thrilled when he ruins some guy’s life who may have just been showing Sacha a polite courtesy even if he’s saying something horrible. Doesn’t change that Sacha is funny, but he’s a horrible dictatorial person who has a very visible disdain for 99% of people and capable of little to no kindness on a personal level.

That Borat movie was absolute garbage, coming from someone who loves the first one. Such low hanging fruit. I was surprised it was even nominated at first, but of course it was all "Orange Man Bad, Trumpers are way more stupider than us hurr durr" so of course it won.

Palm Springs got fricking robbed.

SBC’s movies are like crappy reality TV shows adapted for the big screen

Agreed. If Borat is a movie, then so is Hamilton.
