I know McCoy can be a pro bowl center and has done absolutely nothing wrong but the saints put themselves in this weird position.

I just think ruiz would be much better at center than at guard but you already have a beast at center.

Yes. I thought we should have bit the bullet and went through some of the growning pains last year while we had qb changes going on anyways. I see Ruiz as an achor type and McCoy more Jahri Evans like.

I think it makes sense and I personally believe that’s been the plan

If you have a player that could be an all pro C, why would you move him to G where it’s an unknown? Ruiz gradually improved throughout the year and barely had an offseason, he’ll fine at G.

How does Peat keep getting voted to the pro bowl? Saints fans don’t vote for him. Yet somehow he keeps making it.

Falcons fans trolling/increasing his value? It’s truly a mystery. I actually don’t think he’s as bad as most on here do but not worth his contract and certainly has not played pro bowl caliber the past 2 seasons

He improved but he just doesn't look like a true guard to me.

That's why i said they put themselves in this position.

I think mccoy could be a pro bowl guard also. That's how good he is.

New Orleans drafted Ruiz hoping that he’d play center, but an injury during training camp derailed things and locked him in at guard and Erik McCoy at center.

This is from an Underhill article a week or so ago. Not sure what injury he is referring to but if Underhill knows his shite which I think he does, we are planning to play him at center.

Perhaps the injury is one that Ruiz had during camp and the team felt they didn't have the time to get him up to speed on the Center role? Just speculating because I don't remember what injury he's talking about.

I'd put Brees at center if it meant getting Peat and his garbage contract the frick out of town

I hear he would love the Seattle area....

I didn't see that.

It makes sense then cause ruiz could be really good at center and i don't think mccoy will miss a beat at center.

Everything is adding up. That's why easton was starting over him
Easton was the much better guard.

It's in his "Players that can breakout in 2021" (Paraphrasing the title) article. Yeah I'm not too worried about Ruiz until I see him this year (hopefully at center)

I'm not worried about him either, i was reading another thread and it mentioned him.

Made me think he really needs to be a center. I think he will perform so much better at center.

Wasn’t that the plan from the big inning? The only reason it didn’t happen this year was Covid right?

Pretty much. But even with the messed up training camp due to Covid, they were starting to work him more at C— rotating McCoy and Ruiz. Then he got a foot injury and had to miss more time making it impossible for him to get in sync with Brees.

I agree.

He will be much more comfortable at center. He is quick and that will help him at center.

McCoy will be fine at guard. I think he will be a pro bowl guard.

Mccoy was such a great pick in the 2nd round.

Ruiz literally describes himself as someone who was born to play center. Guy loves to play the center position. Seriously, just look up a few of his pre draft interviews. He will probably end up there eventually. He probably hated playing guard this year. I think Mccoy can play either position. With Ruiz its either center or bust.
