I’d like to see Crews bat 1 through 4

Wyeth looked really comfortable at the plate and I think you try to play beloso in left to get Wyeth in the lineup.

Only issue with this is he is the backup catcher and you aren’t going to put your backup catcher at DH. Milazzo while really good did have some lazy moments with runners on base this weekend and doesn’t hit well enough to have those moments and stay in the lineup. Wyeth may end up being the starting catcher if he can be consistent at the plate even if his defense isn’t at Milazzo’s level.

Crews needs to be batting 3rd and Morgan leading off. I wouldn’t mind putting Arnold at 2 and Doughty at 5 either.

Safford in center until Gio is back. Beloso to DH with Travinski before Wyeth.

I think I’d like to see Morgan lead off for a couple of games to see how he does. He’s patient so he’s going to see a lot of pitches. Finds the barrel more often than not and has enough speed to be a threat.

This 100%!

This looks like a mistake. Crews is a hitting machine, but I've seen nothing that indicates he's more than an average outfielder, except he has a good arm.

With Gio hurt, we desperately need Hampton to start hitting. His speed in center would be a big help.

I thought Sanford played well yesterday.

Moving crews to center is more about getting Drosts bat in the lineup than defense.

Hopefully Gio will be back before the conference season starts and we can see who has been better between Dugas and Drost

Beloso to DH
I guess you missed it that Beloso has only played at DH in the first three games.

He’s had 4 putouts all which have been rather routine lol

I want to see a replay of that ball that hit past him yesterday. Looked like it was hit hard but I couldn’t tell if he misplayed it.

Looked like he misread it off the bat. He took a step or two to his right thinking he was going to catch it in the gap made him too late to retreat make the catch.

That being said I’m not sure if he could’ve gotten there even if he did take a good angle. That ball was smoked

Here are some numbers on Labas from last night:

First time thru the order:
.250/.333/.250

2nd time thru:
.778/.778/1.333

He recorded 10 outs and 8 of them were Ks. When you combine that with giving up 11 hits (9 of which stayed in the park) he gave up a BABIP that's really kind of impressive when you think about it: .818 batting average on balls in play.

He started missing up in the zone and they were just teeing off

I think he is right. Gio strikesout to much to be a good lead off but he's not hopeless as a hitter. Putting him in the 9 hole makes a lot of sense.

Gio actually only struck out once this weekend and showed a lot more discipline at the plate.

I think he’s going to hit well for us this year.

At some point you need to move Crews to the 3 hole.

2 hole minimum but CPM doesn’t seem that progressive.

Wyeth showed enough to get a game to himself this weekend behind the plate. Maybe he catches Labas to try to change things up. I'm not sure I would use him in the DH spot. I would prefer Beloso to stay at DH, and use Sanford, Drost, Safford in the OF. Travinski should get multiple, consecutive at bats, too, to see how he handles a pitcher adjusting from at bat to at bat.
