Lost in NAW's shadow, Jaxson looked good rebounding the ball

He starting to set solid picks and against the Clippers he came up with at least 3-4 contested rebounds that he normally loses. I even saw him shove Zubac out of the way once to get a board and he only picked up 1 foul in 19 minutes.

In year 2 we don't need Jaxson to do much, just provide solid picks, rebounding and defense. Hopefully he's starting to come around.

He's looked better each game for the past couple weeks. Hope it's the start of something great

What do we expect him to be? Dudes like 20 years old. He’s not a center piece of any team. He needs minutes and he can potentially be a Capela-like player.

And I’m not saying he should take ANY of Adam’s minutes.

Rebounding was good, which is good to see.

He still looks like a lost baby giraffe on offense

He's a finisher. He needs to be in a pick and roll offense and in transition to be effective. Our offense isnt helping him play to his strengths as a finisher. Hopefully that changes as he gain more weight and strength.

Best game I've seen him play

We might make a player of him yet

I don't even think it's physical with him, I think he just doesn't understand spacing and positioning yet. He just needs reps, reps, reps, only way he's going to get better.

One thing I'll say... Playing Zion at the 5 with the bench hurts Hayes. And when he's in the game with Zion, they don't compliment each other due to the spacing. Hayes seems to thrive when there aren't too many bodies around him.

People need to be more patient with Jaxson. He has talent and has shown flashes. He just needs time. Not saying he'll be an all star but he can be a good one

He was disciplined, showed on help, didn't bite and over commit on drivers, and recovered back to his man very well all night long. Even though we lost I can't help but feel dam good about how all of our young kids played.

No wait he sucks because he isn't putting up 21/11/4 every night as a 2nd year rookie. Am I doing it right?

I mean this is really his first year in a system. It's tough to improve as a young big when the philosophy is all about pace. SVG is pretty good at working with bigs. Hopefully this trend continues

Some stats from Shamit about Jax' rebounding

Jaxson Hayes - making strides as a rebounder

7 out of 10 of Jaxson's rebounds last night were "contested". He wasn't just pulling down the easy ones.

For example, just 1 of 7 of Hart's were "contested"
