There’s a lot of fans that live in that world. I agree that Lonzo is not a good asset and is a bad player. But I think we can get slightly more for him than a normal player of his caliber due to his fame. GMs live in the real world where marketability is actually a quality that has real value.

Edit: A rebuilding team might like the idea of having Ball while the team is bad to get butts in the seats.

I agree, and that's why i've been pushing him to Charlotte. THey'd get even more national following than they already are getting, and they have actual PG's to allow him to play a true SG role. And i think having both the Balls there helps put butts in the seat, if that was somethign that was normal again.

Maybe I am crazy but he doesn't seem that famous to me. I very rarely hear is name mentioned, most likely because he sucks, but also maybe because he plays for the pelicans. 2 years ago sure, but now I don't see it

He was on The Masked Singer which puts him in front of a bunch of people. He also was a famous high school, college and NBA player in LA. He’s much more famous than other players of his skill level

Hornets are one of only a handful of teams that I could see having interest. Knicks, Magic and Pistons are possibilities as well I guess.

That’s all fine and dandy but what do y’all expect in return from these teams? He’s not a valuable asset at all right now

The only way we can trade for Beal is if Washington really wants Lonzo and Hayes, or if they don't want those two, that someone else actually wants them and will give up something decent for them.
Like say trading Lonzo to the Bulls for Lauri, b/c Washington wants Lauri over Ball. I can't see them sending Beal out for a bunch of picks and no players. They are going to want at least 2 decent young players, or 1 good young player. PG netted all those picks and SGA. We don't have an SGA. Jrue netted all the picks and 2 decent players, not young. Washington isn't interested in Redick, or Bledsoe.

Right. We don't get Beal without getting a third team involved, but I don't know why anyone would see that as an insurmountable obstacle. If Beal becomes available, we'll find that third team and put forth a very competitive offer.

Knicks - 22 top 10 protected 1st round pick
Magic - Fournier or Gordon
Pistons - Rose getting rerouted and a 1st coming our way

Only shot we have is to get a good player from a third team to give to Washington. Always harder to find a third team than do it yourself. Who knows though? I hope Griffin does what it takes.

Think we need to wait on using up all our picks, but I know we can’t wait too long.

Ok I can see the knicks or pistons, but this has nothing to do with Beal though. I agree if we can flip him for ANYTHING i am down but what about assets to get beal

Where in that post did anyone say he was a valuable asset. The discussion was whether any teams would have interest. Not sure value is the primary objective. It is more of avoiding signing him to an albatross of a contract.

Valuable as in nobody is going to give up anything, especially giving a player that is better than him, like most on here seem to think a team will do lol. I think most teams want nothing to do with Lonzo.

Not sure you are reading, but have this conversation going on in your head. Did not mention getting value and even said value was not the primary objective. Let the Lonzo hate subside a bit and actually read the post you are commenting on.

Lonzo is still valuable to certain teams, just like Beasley was valuable enough to Minnesota that the resgined him to a nice deal. They didn't know if he would be the right fit with them when they traded for him, and they didn't give up much for him, a houston 1st, but i'm sure there plan was to see how he did in an expanded role since he wasn't getting one in Denver and go from there, and it worked out nice for them.
Before taht trade, Beasley probably would have signed for less than half of what he ended up signing for, b/c he looked much much better in Minny than Denver.

I know Lonzo already made a change from the Lakers to the Pels, but he looked decent enough last year, and I think there are teams that still think he can be a positive asset in the right situation. Our lack of a true PG on this team is really killing Lonzo b/c he's being thrust into that position and he simply sucks at it.
I could see Lonzo moved somewhere where he can truly play offball, look good knocking down open 3's, playing good D and rebounding well, and get a 4/$70M contract. Or he could stay here, continue to suck, and he'll get MLE money unless a team has some extra salary to waste and he gets slightly above that from a desperate team.

All that being said, he still doesn't give us that much value in a trade. He has potential value to the team that's trading for him, but they aren't paying us for the full potential. At this point, he's worth a non lottery first. Pre bubble, he was probably worth a pick that you'd expect to be in the 7-13 range.

Maybe the Pels will continue giving NAW a run and he'll continue scoring like he did tonight against the Clippers. Several 30+ point and 8 rebound games will make him look like he's got some value.
