GAB/Telegram/Rumble - Couple of Questions....Posted by KCT
on 1/13/21 at 9:31 pm

1) For those who have tried them out, pros/cons of each?
2) I remember Redpill78 saying in late October that once GAB.TV was up and running it would be a game-changer. Anybody know anything about GAB.TV? Is it already out?
TIA

Telegram looks more like a messaging app than a FB type app. It has some channels, but they look like the classified ads from bad weekly newspapers.
Rumble is fine. It looks like it has AIDS. But it’s mostly fine.
Haven’t tried Gab yet.

Rumble is good and going to get better. It is not Youtube good, but will be competitive as they get more content.
GAB's format looks a lot more like Twitter. I like it better than Parler, though it has few less users. Lately, it's been timing out and lagging, but I suspect that's because due to high traffic and new users.

I signed up for gab but it won’t come up anymore on my phone browser. It times out.
I was having this problem yesterday, but it seems to be working now.

If Rumble is allowed to have it's own app I hope they design it so it continues playing like the Pluto app while you multitask on your phone. I really like that feature. I also like the double tap feature on YouTube to fast forward. Rumble needs to incorporated that feature.
gab has gab-pro which you have to pay for but seems to have some cool features:

All this.
I believe gab has their own server farm unlike Parler who used Amazon. Twitter also has their own servers.

Just an FYI since Apple does not carry the gab app there is a workaround.
You can do this with any website. I have app buttons for Tigerdroppings on my phone.

How To Install The Gab Social Mobile App
Last updated: May 16, 2020 7:47 PM
Gab is banned from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store for refusing to censor speech for Google and Apple.
Here's how to install your mobile app.
Get the Gab App On Android:
Launch “Chrome” app
Search for and open Gab.com
Tap the menu icon (3 dots in upper right-hand corner) and tap "Add to Home Screen."
You'll be able to enter a name for the shortcut and then Chrome will add it to your home screen.
Open the Gab app from your home screen.
Get the Gab app for iOS:
Launch “Safari” app
Search for and open Gab.com
Tap the share icon (the button at the center of the footer on the bottom) scroll and tap "Add to Homescreen."
You'll be able to enter a name for the shortcut and then Safari will add the Gab app to your home screen.

Gab has gotten better over the years, but doesn't work for shite now. They need to update their infrastructure.
I prefer Signal to telegram. Had telegram a while ago, but it just never grew on me. If you're gonna use either, though, be sure you're using an open source keyboard and not the Google/Samsung/Apple one (otherwise big bro can still read your outgoing messages).
Rumble has AIDS. Odysee seems like the best alternative so far. Gab TV looks promising, though. But, again, they've gotta spin up a lot more infrastructure.
And YouTube isn't bad if you don't log in, use a VPN, containerize your browser tabs, turn off tracking in your browser, disable unwanted javascript, and use ad blockers like pihole and ublock-origin.
