There is no debate

2019 LSU played every team full strength in packed stadiums. Going to Austin in early september and winning is not easy. Going to Bryant Denny with Tua and all their 1st round weapons and winning was not easy.

The way our whole team was clicking the past 4 games would have beat any CFB team in history

Comparing Burrow to Mac is foolish

We beat this same Bama team that included Tua, jeudy and Ruggs last year and they never had the ball with a chance to tie or take the lead in the second half at their house with a full stadium of fans

Yeah, I think you have to first ask who would between 2019 Bama and 2020 Bama? A lot of the same players, and you have to assume the 2020 versions might be improved.

But they lost some super talent. And while I have great respect for the 2020 QB - Tua could be a magician at times.

yup. 3 of their TDs were cheap.. A punt return for TD that should have been tackled, that smith TD that the coaches were talking to stingley on sideline and the last TD where we were in Cover 0 for no reason.

The other 2 TDs they scored they had to convert multiple 4th downs

Both teams have great high powered offenses. LSU was better at the most important position quarterback by a mile.

2019 LSU defense > Bama 2020 defense

The only position group that without a doubt Bama was better is O line. Maybe they had an edge at RB but if they did it was not by much. Najee is the better talent but the way Clyde fit in LSU’s offense was so perfect. Every other position group I would go LSU over Bama.

Dumbest type of question that is constantly asked of athletes in sports. Whether it is true or not is the athlete really going to say "nah, they better we sucked arse"

One season to the next is hard to compare obviously. But...

Looking at Football Outsiders ranking on Off and Def Efficiency for 2019 and 2020 and opponents each team played shows some major differences.

2019 LSU Top 20 opponents for OFEI and DFEI give us this:
Offense-
#2 Bama
#4 Oklahoma
#5 Clemson
#13 Texas
#19 Fla

Defense
#1 Clemson
#3 Georgia
#4 Auburn
#10 Bama
#19 Florida

2020 Alabama opponents
Offense
#3 Ohio State
#8 Ole Miss
#10 Florida
#17 Notre Dame

Defense
#12 Georgia

Is there really any debate on who had the better team and season?

Joe's response: "You really think I would let this guy beat me?"

I am sorry , when did 2020 Alabama play everyone of their teams with complete roster and no opt outs ???

When did 2020 Alabama go up against teams that had a complete spring and offseason conditioning program?

Didn't 2019 Alabama have Mack Jones, Harris , and Smith on their team?

I don't remember Clemson having just 8 wins when LSU faced them in 2019 National Championship?

I don't remember 2020 Ohio State defending their National Championship

should I go on ?????

Imagine the delusion of a fanbase trying to claim goat status in a year where the entirety of college football was significantly down. The SEC was historically down with only 4 ranked teams at years end. No crowds. And in a year where Liberty, ULL, Coastal Carolina and San Jose State are top 25 teams. It’s downright laughable
