O loves him some NFL coaches. Because that means they'll automatically be good college coaches
There are good college coaches but in college I'd say it's heavily favored more on who you recruit. You still need to get the X's and O's part down to win it all, but you can hide a deficiency in college of being technical by loading up the talent. You play a bunch of teams that don't have the same amount of talent. It ain't that way in the NFL.
So I'd say that looking towards the NFL for a defensive coordinator is extremely smart. Because those guys probably know a lot more than some yoyo hot name from college.
