Confirms what many of us suspected. With the Broncos QBs gone late in the week the game plan changed to be ultra-conservative. Taysom didn’t throw balls and took sacks because he was told last night and this morning not to take any risks and just don’t put the defense in a bad position.

Take 10 minutes to watch the two clips;

Payton post-game

Hill post-game

Hill did have one terrible drive with the throw to cook into double coverage, the fumble, and the pick to MT but other than that one drive he did exactly what he was supposed to do. I’m still ridin’ with Taysom and long live King Payton.

Payton also stated that the two delay of game penalties were on him, not Taysom Hill.

I think Sean took has taken a few bullets for him in the press conferences the last two weeks which I appreciate.

Clearly, Sean is just covering for his golden boy.

Smart not to berate your inexperienced backup in public when you can coach him up in private. A listen for lesser coaches.

This game had ugly written all over it as soon as the Denver QB's were out. We should've all known this would create a bad backdrop for Taysom to build on what he did against Atlanta. Taysom is high-energy guy that feeds on momentum. When he has to think "should I run...should I stay in pocket" he loses his edge. It's a double-edged sword. He's most effective checking two routes then taking off. He will never start in this league if that's what he has to do to function. Peyton is trying to make him a QB. Not sure if this will work or not but I like watching the kid play!

At least he didn’t do what O did on the sideline to Finley? Completely destroying an inexperienced backups confidence?

The only bad pass he threw was the one into double coverage. He had a few that were off the mark but they weren't dangerous. The INT was off a tip that the DB just made a great play on.

TayTay did what he needed to do to help get his team the W. He'll need to do more next week.

As opposed to the Arians approach of running his QB over with a bus, backing up, and then running over him again.

This is how its done. Good on Payton
