Since I missed laying out pre-emergent

And it is still a little warm can I spray the yard with a herbicide like weed be gone or some thing to knock down any remaining summer weeds and kill any winter weeds that have germinated? Then put out a pre-emergent?

I figured it’s probably not the norm but I have a bunch of hose end spray bottles left. I had someone grab me pre emergent but they got 0-0-7 atrazine and I never made it back to swap.

atrazine is a better post emergent than pre-emergent but it certainly has pre-emergent properties but nothing wrong with using it at this time since you have it. Just want to be sure for future reference that you are aware that there are better pre-emergents than atrazine.
I’m assuming you don’t have a Bermudagrass lawn - correct? - as atrazine will damage non- dormant Bermudagrass.

Yea I did not want atrazine at all. I was looking for a 007 with the pre-emergent y’all usually recommend on here, the name escapes me at the moment. I was going to see if the store would let me swap it out.
I have saint aug grass.

Yes - that would be granular Dimension - but though you’ve missed the optimal time for applying a fall pre-emergent certainly not all winter weeds have germinated so you can apply the atrazine now since you have it. Just remember to apply pre-emergent by mid -February (Dimension or Prodiamine) for spring/early summer weeds.

Ok so you think I can spray and then apply the atrazine or is the spray worth doing?

Though it depends on the weeds you are trying control, if you spray Weed-B-Gon, which is “Trimec” type herbicide containing 2,4D, it will be effective on many broadleaf weeds, and the Atrazine will also effective on many broadleaf weeds, plus some grassy weeds (Poa annua, for example) and some perennial weeds (dollarweed for example).
Sure - you can apply both - one of the frequently recommended herbicides on this board in “cooler” weather is a mixture of Weed Free Zone + Atrazine (liquid) “winter weed cocktail”. So you’d be applying something very similar. I’d apply both - Weed B Gon will act pretty quickly on killing broadleaf weeds, and atrazine more slowly. You can apply them on the same day if you want - in what ever order you want.

I’ve actually started using atrazine for whatever weeds got past the pre emergent barrier. Pretty pleased with how it’s been working.

So I am going to spray spectracide weed stop in a little bit. How long to wait before cutting the grass. And how long to wait before apply a hose in fungus treatment?

From the label
“ Mowing: Delay mowing two days before and until two days after the application of this product. Additional stress from low mowing heights may increase the possibility of turf injury.”
I assume you have a Bermudagrass or Zoysia lawn as you don’t want to spray this product on St Augustine or Centipede.
Fungicide - I’d probably apply it after cutting the grass if that is what you intend to do 2 days after applying the herbicide, unless the label on the fungicide you plan to use tells you something different.

Heh guess I should have read more than the application part lol.
I have sat aug but this is one for southern lawns, it says just not Floratam st aug in FL.
Looking like rain Wednesday so if it hasn’t rained yet I’ll cut it Tuesday afternoon. Thanks again!

How often can I spot treat with the winter weed cocktail? I’m assuming it’s ok anytime I see new weeds growing?
Also, studios question but I’m ok mixing it with 1/2 gal of water and just using half the amounts right!

That’s what I do - the younger/smaller the weed, the easier it is to kill.
