Rumour that we'll have solid painted endzones this weekend

A little birdie on Poydras has whispered in my ear that with Doug Thornton off due to health reasons, the Superdome krewe was able to paint the endzones solid black for the first time since we'd had the flubber in 2003.

I'm all on team "fill in the end zone"... but I understand why not to
I'm sure the paint needed to do it is specialized and costly... not that money should be a concern for a NFL team
also... I've heard of players previously complaining that the paint can sometimes be slick and slippery... and we don't need players concerning themselves with the footing on the field.
1 way to not worry about that the slippery part is to originally make the field with the markings already on it so you don't need paint... like they do in Jerry World or Metlife
the issue with that is the Saints rip up the field at the end of every season (something about electrical connections being in the floor that's needed for parades and concerts and whatnot... I believe most other stadiums just cover the turf with flooring when it's not needed
)... so you're essentially asking to use at least 2 different fields that will have to be redone every single year FWIW... the Falcons first home game this season... they had given their end zones the full color treatment... but yesterday it was just the art with no back fill

I remember most vividly the beautiful way the soapy suds of cheap American beer glistened against the black and light orange paint on our beautiful solid coloured endzone
