I’m looking to add to my home gym. I have a rogue echo and a rower in the gym but I’m wanting to add something to put in my office. I found a great deal on marketplace for a Schwinn (125 bucks.) What are y’alls thoughts?

Just buy a bike trainer for your real bike. Go full on Zwift set up and grind out minutes.

There are ways to make a basic Cyclops work. I paid $150 for mine, used, and have gotten good use out of it. I would rather ride inside, than risk getting run over.

What is a good trainer to get that isn't too expensive? Do you have one that you need to take the back tire off?

All the real bikers are gonna tell you to buy zwift and a bike and all kinds of other shite. frick all that. Every says to do that but the setup is more than most spin bikes and ends up being more than the concept 2. Spin offers a shite ton more from a class perspective.

If you want zwift, get the concept 2 bike. If you want to do spin and think you will enjoy it, get the cheap one you are looking at for now and get the peloton app and see if you actually use it. If you do, get a Pelton eventually.

I have a Cycleops Fluid trainer. Always some on marketplace for cheap. Don’t get the magnetic. Mine leaves the rear wheel on, but have a designated wheel and tire, as it does flatten the tread pattern, making it unsafe for the road. With that, I have an old 19” flatscreen on a stand, and a box fan to stay cool. All in, I have $200 in the set up. Much of it reused from upgrades elsewhere, so costed nothing.

I paid $350 for my smart trainer and it's solid. Here is the one I bought from Mike's Bike Shop, free shipping and no tax.
