Issues with quoting/pasting in Chrome

Not sure if it's operator error or another issue. Has anyone else run into this?
About half the time when I quote something and then try to continue typing in the regular message box, it no longer allows me to type. Only happens in Chrome. I usually switch to IE and never have any issues there.
Chrome Version 86.0.4240.183. It says I'm up to date
This happens both when I highlight something and click the quote button or just when I copy something and paste it into the quote box manually.
