Anyone have any tips? I understand that it's normally caused by a steep downswing or coming too far forward. I've tried keeping my head back and leaning back but just doesn't seem to work. Luckily I'm using my old driver right now and it's already loaded with "idiot marks". Very frustrating because my putting and chipping is really good. But the sky balls are just killing my score.

I'm assuming you know to play the driver off of your front insole? There's no good reason you should be hitting the ball with the top of your driver if you're lined up correctly...the ball should be beyond the lowest point of your swing and be hit on the upswing. Maybe try angling your shoulders a shade upward at address (which you should do anyway)?

I think I'm playing it forward enough, I could try moving it forward some more I guess. On film I definitely struggle with a "chicken wing" and hip slide as well.

How high are you teeing the ball up? Does it sit above the clubface at address?

Try choking down on your grip. Is your old driver the same length as the one you were using prior?

Are the scuff marks that are on club face off the heel or toe?

Your head is probably sliding towards the target in the downswing, causing you to get steep and hit down too much.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I started a thread last week about losing distance, and I also was scaring up my driver head which I never did prior. Not sure why but I had stopped angling my left shoulder up. Your suggestion helped me so much this weekend. Thank you.

Tee it down and make a few practice swings til it feels right, then repeat your good practice swing and smash it down the fairway

Ive noticed 2 things when I do this.

1. Ball is tee'd too high. For whatever reason I gotta tee it lower than what I see most do

2. Keeping weight on back foot. When I transfer weight correctly or even stay neutral I have a better flight.

I’ll bet if you video yourself you are losing your spine angle or dipping your head up and down.
