"What it’s like flying in the US right now"...

I've flown three times in the last 2 months. The best thing about flying during COVID is upon arrival everyone stays in there seats until its time for your row to leave the plane. No idiots trying to rush out.

I didn’t experience that on American last week. Plane was full and as soon as the seatbelt sign went off people got up and stood in the aisle

Flew United from ORD -> BOS on Sunday. Honestly, there wasn't anything that felt drastic or concerning.

It's largely uneventful.

Other than the mask, and more stops and less things open in some terminals (waiting for Admirals Club to open in Austin next week - they think) I've found flying to be largely the same.

Sitting in an airport right now... the last 2 months of flights have been glorious.
However, the mask Nazis are gaining ground... just heard announced that masks with vents or filters are No longer allowed and neither are bandanas or general cloth face coverings. And the fact they make kids under 10 wear them is ridiculous. F this world

The few flights that I've had were a breeze. Other than some dbag in DEN yelling at me to put my mask back on, while I was holding my drink with the top off, clearly drinking it.

I understand them requiring adults to wear them... but to say the filter masks aren’t allowed and that kids over 2 now have to wear them, is ridiculous.
Of course, I’m not an irrational pussy though. Or someone who would sue claiming a 3yr old gave me the rona Bc they weren’t wearing a mask.

Friend,
I am grateful all the airlines are requiring masks of passengers, and am even more grateful that the requirements are becoming more specific. I think either an N-95 or a three-ply surgical mask should be required. The surgical masks can be bought in bulk for 5-10 cents, so airlines should have an ample supply of the surgical masks for flyers who arrive with their homemade ones and rotisserie chicken face covers. I wish airlines did not get out any food or drinks during the flight. That way, no one would be allowed to remove their masks, which would make the flight much safer. Too many people on flights I have taken have used the "I'm still eating" excuse to keep off their masks. If you cannot go a few hours without food or some water maybe you need to re-evaluate the difference between need and want, and modify your habits through discipline, as the monastics did. Keep in mind you do not eat or drink during sleep for many hours, and you have been doing that for years now without any adverse outcomes.
The flying crowds are increasing with each passing week. Airports in general remain quiet. Restaurants are often not open. I've taken five flights now in a post-Covid19 world, and each flight has departed the gate early. I have not had any delays. In that sense, it has been wonderful. My flights have been altered a week ahead of schedule, but the changes did not cause any significant issues.
Yours,
TulaneLSU

Friend,
No amount of malice from your mouth will ever keep me from liking you. Coach (Al), Mr. Rodriguez, Mrs. Silbernagel, and Coach Ray probably would not want to read those words coming from you either.

Friend,
I think your EU total is actually the world total. I believe the EU total is approximately 184,000.

Flew back into Houston early this morning and the airport was packed... I’d guess75% of normal.
I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Lots of kiddos, so I’m assuming vacations prior to school starting, even though they could technically take class from the beach.

Aside from mostly closed rest/bars in airports, it's the best it's been in years. Lately you can find at least one bar serving. I fly Southwest and they are not selling the middle seats. Makes flying comfortable. Us travelers know that pre-rona, those flights were full, 90% of the time. Boarding and unboarding quicker. No liquor served on SW flights though. That's gotta change.

Ya I was curious if I'd get the stink eye when we departed on our flight but I saw a lot of families.
