I just saw where Jason Bateman has taken on the direction of a new Netflix Heist show. Article says he likely will not act or act in a small cameo but will direct the full series. I can see why all this factored into a final 14 episode of Ozark. It looks like Jason Bateman was ready to move on to next thing. And with Ozark, Jason Bateman's career has taken off in front of but mainly behind the camera.

Finished S3 yesterday. Wow, I’m impressed that this show has remained this good. I really liked this season, even though there were things I didn’t like about it.

Hated the Ben storyline. I liked it at first but man he just was so overly inept that it was obvious where it was headed. But I guess they needed a reason for Ruth and the Byrdes to split ties.

Darlene and Wyatt I also didn’t care for. Just felt awfully forced and weird.

Also wasn’t a fan of Helen being such a centerpiece of this season. I get like her character worked better here and there. But they made it work well enough. Hated everything about the daughter storyline, although I guess that helped drive the Ben one.

Really liked seeing Marty and Wendy being on the outs but still able to make things work. I liked the whole “Wendy is making big loves and Marty is trying to clean up the messes” angle.

Jonah also sucked this season, especially at the end. The sister was solid though.

Still like Ruth but man it seems like they try so hard to make her overly vulgar and it stands out at times. But she’s tied up in a lot of plot lines this season and handled them pretty well for the most part.

Navarro is a foul dude. Holy shite. But man, what else can you expect from a cold blooded cartel boss.

The FBI agent is sharp and trying to flip her seems like the wrong play for Marty. And he seems too smart to even try to do that.

I don’t remember, what happened to the marina and restaurant business that they had? Did they lose it at some point? It wasn’t in the season at all.

Helen getting got caught me way off guard. I jumped a little bit when it happened. She was such a good character.

All in all, this season was WAY dark, even darker than before. And I’m pumped we get another season to wrap everything up. Can’t wait to watch it.

Question: what was the Jonah thing with shooting out the window at the end?

The looks on the Byrde’s faces at the end of the episode was great and the perfect tone to end on. Man, Navarro is cold blooded.

Go back to S2E6 and 8 and Marty's interactions with Rachel. He was working to make sure to get the business back to Rachel to remove her and the Blue Cat from the the bad Byrde orbit. In S2E8 he gave her money for the BC before sending her to rehab. So he divested himself from that business.
