When Buying New TVs is Refresh Rate Important?

All my TVs in the past are mostly 240Hz

Is it that big of a deal to get 120 Hz refresh rate instead to save money?

i doubt you'll notice much difference in 120 from 240

i don't think most humans can tell the difference in 60 and 120 outside of some very specific situations (like certain sports)

I don't worry about that at all.

Local Dimming and Dolby Vision are much more important IMO

No they aren't. It's 60hz with interpolation

Unless something has changed just recently there aren’t any 4K TVs with a refresh rate higher than 120Hz.

Are there even any sources (apart from gaming) that are higher than 60Hz?

so what am i supposed to be looking at to know which tv won't stutter or lag during sports?
I want a clean smooth picture watching sports, and i'm looking to get me a new 75".
