If that caused people to vote for Abrams than Georgia is fricked

Most of those GOPers probably stayed home.

Kemp was viewed as a dolt (especially as Secretary of State) and a lot of outside money poured in to support Abrams.

Someone once posted on this site (may have even been you actually) that people like Will Ferrell were going door to door in suburban Atlanta campaigning for Abrams.

Georgia limits governors to one term.

I don’t know if it is one term ever or just no consecutive terms, but he isn’t going to be running for re-election.

Alright without revealing to much information about myself I did a lot of political work for Republicans in Georgia during the 2017-18 election cycle. I had access to all voter data and a lot of donor reports for Republicans during this cycle. If you have a question for me fire away and to answer the OP, yes Georgia is dangerously close to turning blue.

Where did you hear this? They are limited to two consecutive terms.

Two consecutive terms, plus one term after a four-year gap. In this case Kemp can run again in 2022, then he would have to wait until 2030.

Every governor we've had under that set up (enacted in the mid-70s) has won a second term with the exception of Roy Barnes (thanks to the flag issue, screwing over teachers, and the Northern Arc).

Articles of Confederation with free city status for Atlanta is the solution.

I guess I was using old info.

I knew Lester Maddox and Jimmah the Dhimmi couldn’t/wouldn’t get re-elected.

Yep. George Busbee (right after Carter) was the first two-termer. Maddox ended up being Carter's Lieutenant Governor and then ran again in 1974 but lost to Busbee in the Dem primary.
