It isn't as good as the court saying Maddow lied, and definitely not as good as making Maddow cut a check.
But they can make the argument that the original claim was adjudicated to not be a fact.

The fatal flaw in the judge's ruling:
A judge ruled on Friday that the host of the MSNBC program “The Rachel Maddow Show” did not malign the ultraconservative political network when she called it “Russian propaganda" and dismissed OAN’s $10 million defamation lawsuit, reported Variety.
“A reasonable viewer would not actually think OAN is paid Russian propaganda.
Rachel Maddow has no reasonble viewers.

I understand your concern but there has to be some more stringent standards placed on news and news/political opinion shows. It's one thing to give an opinion based on facts but that's not what's going on with today's DimMedia. These Dim propaganda outlets are truly lying without shame or consequence to gullible Americans.
Slander and libel laws definitely need to be relaxed.
