Thankfully this shite is over. Let's just try not to get relegated over the final 2 months. A tough task, I know, but I believe we can win a match and that should be enough.

Moving forward, we have soooooo many questions to answer. My personal opinion is that we need a total rebuild from the top to the bottom.

1. Levy has to open the check book a bit.

2. Hire a Director of Football Operations to actually handle the transfers and work with the manger. So many players we "almost" get but then don't. Others we do get and they fricking stay injured all year or are just whiny bitches according the current manager (looking at you Ndembele"

3. No more trimming around the edges. Gonna have to move on from 2 of Kane, Dele, Son.

4. Use that money to Get a fricking Defensive Midfielder worth a shite. And for the love of everything, get a fricking Fullback or 2.

5. Get rid of all the bullshite that can't play at this level or just need to move on. Serge Aurrier, Harry Winks, Jan, Wanyama, Eric Dier.

6. Target more players like Steve Bergien who have high upside and limited downside. We need that energy and that enthusiasm.

7. Build some depth at obvious positions of need. Striker, Fullbacks, Defensive Midfield.

Woof, a lot to unpack here.
Overall, solid points and agree with you on most of it.
Rebuttles:

Gonna have to move on from 2 of Kane, Dele, Son.

I think you can just get rid of Dele. However, 2 of the 3 is plausible if you're looking for a rebuild.

We're currently a long way off from peak Wanyama-Dembele and Walker-Rose years
quote:

just need to move on. Serge Aurrier, Harry Winks, Jan, Wanyama, Eric Dier.

Winks is a serviceable role player but shouldn't be tacked on XI, same with Jan but he's getting old, Dier may have a role at CB (maybe).
Wanyama has been sold to Montreal as of last week

I think everyone has just mentally checked out on this season. Some really good pieces when all healthy, need a few more, but will be interesting to see come August.

Personally I'm getting some nostalgia from the Ramos years and AVB-post Bale years. Weirdly enjoying it

Throw Dele in that list. It’s time to move him on. Has to go. As well as everyone else you mentioned. Surprisingly I wouldn’t mind holding on to Dier for some reason. While I haven’t been impressed with his play, though he’s looking a bit more comfortable, I think he adds a bit of backbone that’s desperately needed.

ETA: frick it, I don’t know. Nobody should be safe from being moved on except Kane, Son & Lo Celso. Everyone else should be on notice.

It feels like the club is teetering on the brink of a potential downward spiral to long-term mediocrity. We’re not going to be playing any European football next season, which makes it difficult to sign players or hang on to the decent ones we have. Couple that with the gigantic cost of the stadium that has to be paid somehow and all of a sudden you’re looking at going from playing poor, unattractive football with above average talent to playing poor, unattractive football with no talent.

Yep. I thought for sure we’d keep Kane around for next season, but considering the possibility of further regression to finish this season off, and no Europe, I wouldn’t be surprised if he wants to leave this summer.

I certainly get the frustration about this team, but I personally don't think this is a burn it to the ground situation. I will admit that I don't think Mourinho is going to work out and his style of play makes my eyes bleed, but he deserves a chance this offseason to work with a healthy squad on how he wants to play.

quote:

1. Levy has to open the checkbook a bit.

We need to invest in LB & RB. We are absolutely clueless in those positions. Outside of buying Aurier, when is the last time we added or developed a true LB/RB into the team?

quote:

2. Hire a Director of Football Operations to actually handle the transfers and work with the manger. So many players we "almost" get but then don't. Others we do get and they fricking stay injured all year or are just whiny bitches according the current manager (looking at you Ndembele"

Agreed. Although the Ndombele situation is weird. Half of the teams in Europe wanted him so I'm not sure anyone saw this coming.

quote:

3. No more trimming around the edges. Gonna have to move on from 2 of Kane, Dele, Son.

This is probably the only part I disagree with. I don't think we are at that point yet. If one of them decides they 100% want out then I have no problem cashing in and reinvesting into the squad(ex: Coutinho = Van Diyk + Salah), but we can rebuild this squad with those guys as key pieces. I still think Kane can thrive in the system that Mourinho wants to play. Kane is under contract until 2024 so we have a year or 2 at least to see if we can figure this thing out around him.

quote:

5. Get rid of all the bullshite that can't play at this level or just need to move on. Serge Aurrier, Harry Winks, Jan, Wanyama, Eric Dier.

Harry Winks belongs at this level and is a valuable piece in the midfield. In a perfect world, he isn't int he starting 11 every week, but he can provide competition and can be a part of a midfield rotation that keeps guys fresh. I've seen a lot of hate for Dele as well. Based on his performances I understand it, but he has no business playing a false 9 and has been forced into that role because of injuries to Kane, Son, Bergwijn, and Levy's stupid decision to let Llorente leave when we had no cover lined up(This has not been talked about enough IMO). Dele actually was brilliant in the first few games under Mourinho when Kane was fit.

6. Target more players like Steve Bergien who have high upside and limited downside. We need that energy and that enthusiasm.

Agreed.

Agreed

Lastly, If we do end up moving on from Mourinho, I hope they back the truck up for Nagelsmann. I could watch that style of football every weekend win lose or draw.

COYS!

Yessir!

However your first point is accurate, and as much as I think everyone now understands the Mourinho hire is going to be a nightmare without significant player changes, I don’t see how you could possibly judge him on this season. He should get a full summer, and next year. I still think it will be a disaster next season, assuming soccer still exists, but he deserves next year.

It seems that a lot of people forget that Dele is only 22 and isn't a striker. All of the attacking players have looked pretty poor without Kane on the field, as none of them at 9's.

Poch said this year would be tough; moving on from him might have made it a bit tougher but maybe not. Then throw in a massive number of injuries to key players and this is what you get. Mediocrity.

He'll be 24 next month but your point is valid. No Kane and no Son so we had to throw these guys (lucas, dele, bergwijn etc.) into forward positions that they don't normally play.

Poch saw what was happening. People were tiring out and instead of investing each summer with fresh pieces Levy said hey we're getting results keep it up. Now we're at the point where everyone is dog arse tired or injured and you get the results that we've been seeing.

I don't see why people don't think that Mourinho with a summer of some solid transfers (a boy can dream) can turn this team into a top 4 contender next year. Especially with no europe to add extra wear.

We were 5-0-2 under Mourinho with Kane and Son and then they got hurt and it all went to shite.

Not really, but I just thought of something.

If the league gets postponed into the summer, I wonder if the transfer window will get pushed back as well. The chaos that would ensue if they were at the same time.

Starting XI: 4-2-3-1
Lloris
Walker-Dier-Vertonghen-Rose
Bentaleb-Mason
Lamela-Dembele-Eriksen

I miss Moussa Dembele.

The bench includes Fazio, Paulinho, and Soldado

Tottenham letting people stream the 2nd leg CL semifinal for free on their website.
Free/Legal stream

...a shame that they weren't able to finish the Champions League season that year either.

Dele Alli suspended for one match and fined for his video at the start of the Covid pandemic.

Totally forgot that this even happened to be honest.

Good to be back baws

Here’s some transfer news to kickoff our EPL return

Chelsea CB Kurt Zouma linked to Spurs and Everton

quote:

Moving from Manchester to London, it appears that Kurt Zouma could be linking up with his former boss Jose Mourinho or heading back to Everton.

quote:

At Spurs he would surely be a starter and Mourinho is desperate to strengthen his defense which has leaked goals ever since he arrived in north London. As for Everton, Michael Keane and Yerry Mina have developed a good partnership and the versatile Mason Holgate is an option too, but Zouma would probably start at Goodison.
