Curfews have nothing to do with stopping the virus.

Can someone explain to me how a curfew means anything other than an opportunity for local leaders to sign a document and feel important? Does the virus feed off moonlight or something? Stamp ya forms baws, no one’s gonna give a shite.

You’re right. Curfews don’t do a thing to help the situation.
Edit: in fact they make it worse by compressing what essential activity has to be done into a specific set of hours, increasing congestion during those hours.

It’s just another step toward authoritarianism. Governors don’t have the power to do most of the shite they’ve been doing, they’re just doing it and no one is challenging them.

Ignorance is contagious. It is also terminal.

And I’ll go on the record saying I support social distancing and other measures that are being taken. The curfews just feel so frivolous.

Except help looters have easier access to what they desire.

I think most of the curfews are a way to keep the riff raff from gathering at night in nieborhoods and parking lots because of boredom which they fear will turn into looting soon. So far it’s been the high crime areas or democrat run cities

Super Walmarts were open 24 hours. Now they close early evening, forcing all the people who need something from there to congregate in heavier numbers at one time. This is just dumb.
I keep seeing all the soccer moms posting that Walmart should be doing only curbside pickup. Place your order, and they give you a time-window to show up. They have no idea the logistics involved with that, and are mostly incapable of comprehending why that isn't very feasible. Otherwise, that would be every big-box stores model ALL THE TIME!

There is a reason soccer moms are soccer moms

You should see my Walmart and Lowe's... like a concert. Every 65+ year old in the area must just live there.

I guess you haven't seen Walmart at 8pm or low income areas filled with people committing petty crimes.

My wife stopped at Publix today, for a can of Cream of Celery soup for a casserole. Bare shelves. Went to Walmart. Got the last one. Place was packed.
I'm a night owl. If Walmart was open 24 hours, like they used to be, I'd go at mid-night or later.

I don't usually go to Walmart, and I certainly don't visit the ones in low income areas.
I know people who drive thru Montgomery County, just to go to the Walmart in another county. Nobody enjoys an urban safari very long.

It stokes the ego of some Barney Fife cop by giving them instant reason to pull anyone over that's out at night.

It's called doing something for the sake of doing something even though the only effective accomplishment is pissing people off.
