The FB posts about stores having meat, TP, etc are making shortages worse.

The do gooders are making things much worse.

Yeah I know. You're just trying to help. You go to Sams and see three pallets of toilet paper rolled out. You're at Kroger and see a counter full of fresh meat. Walmart put out a yuge supply of eggs and bread.

So what do you do? You take a picture and show it on Facebook.

It used to be you were just showing it to your few hundred friends. Now you are going to Lets Talk Baton Rouge, Sherwood Forest neighborhood group of 5,000 members (I made up the number), or some Metairie FB group that has 10,000 members.

Congratulations. You didn't help your friends. You alerted the wolfpack who instantly descend on the store and buy up the supplies.

All you are doing is making the shortages worse. We didn't have the shortages lasting this long after Katrina. Why? We didn't have this social media crap used to cause panic buying. There are no shortages, there is no lack of production but damn, you just have to "help people".

Well, you aren't helping people, you are frickING THINGS UP!!!! I hate Google, Youtube, Twitter, and FB censorship but if FB started banning these photos and announcements tomorrow, I would not be unhappy. This crap is causing severe food shortages and making things worse.

You fricking do-gooders are just as bad as the guys in Kentucky.

Is it as bad as the ones that lecture people about panic shopping, then insinuate how they are going to get a jump on their panic shopping

Oh hell no. Kroger stays out of it. Costco is out of it. They get shipments but goes quick. Went to Sams this morning around 11. They had maybe 30 packs left, got one. They weren't going to last til 1.

Very hard to get bread here as well as eggs although Costco had eggs Sunday.

Sams in Pearl had a line all the way to the street Saturday morning.

I’m down to 4 rolls for the 6 of us. It’s getting very real. They’re building a house down the street and I looked in the porta potty and found 2 still wrapped rolls. I didn’t take them yet but if I don’t find some tomorrow I’m getting both.
