Finally coming back to golf after a while. I definitely need something in the super game improvement category. I want to limit spending to $250-$350. I’m in college keep in mind

I already have a driver, putters, and wedges, but my iron set is 10 years old. I’m probably looking for 4-PW

I don’t think getting fitted would help right now. I had shoulder surgery a while back, and have to completely revamp my swing. I think it’d be too inconsistent to help.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I’d look for a used set that is 3-4 years old to get in that price range.

Here ya go This set is from 2017 and there is a 4-pw with steel shafts available for under $260 in ‘good’ condition. The Callaway preowned site is legit - their ‘good’ condition would be considered ‘very good’ by most any other manufacturer.

Are the steelhead irons supposed to be any good?

There is plenty of information out there. Golf Digest does an annual equipment review. MyGolfSpy also has good reviews.

All the top manufacturers make "good" stuff. No one can tell you which ones are the best without seeing you play. And you can't find out which specific clubs are the best for you without getting fitted. However, for your level of play and budget, getting fitted does not honestly make much sense. I'd find some SGI irons in your price range, google them to find out more, pick the one that looks best, and go play.

Both are very forgiving. It’s such a personal issue.
