Clemency would prevent Stone from serving any prison sentence, but the conviction would stand. Then win or lose after the November election, Trump should then issue Stone a full pardon, along with that of Paul Manafort.

Why does it matter when he gets pardoned?

So that the liberals in Congress can't hold hearings, or proceed with another impeachment to muddy the waters before the election.

Why? Why do you want people who broke the law to not serve jail time?

Not with a 40 month sentence. Not with the AG stating the case against Stone was "righteous". Stone will need to serve time until after November and after Durham indictments and convictions are declared.

Bad luck for Stone that Jackson was measured and subdued her personal TDS in sentencing.

Lying to investigators (who can lie to you) who are investigating a made up crime isn't cause for 3 years in prison

That's a cowardly way of thinking.

Stone either deserves a full pardon or he doesn't. The timing of it doesn't matter.

Trump should pardon Stone by the end of the day today.

Why should Comey and McCabe not be prosecuted for lying and leaks? If one lies to the FBI it's a crime. Ask Flynn, Stone, etc. McCabe an FBI agent and supervisor lied and is not to be prosecuted. It's justice for all, NOT justice for some. Lady justice wears a blindfold in every courthouse in America. Even she can see what's going on here.

No he shouldn't.
He should let the legal process play out.
Appeals pending. New trial request and so forth.

Once those are played out then consider it.

Why do that?

I thought the whole idea behind 'draining the swamp' was to get rid of creatures like these.

Google Scooter Libby. Was found guilty and immediately sentence commuted by George Bush. Libby never went to jail. Trump recently gave him a full pardon that Bush wouldn't give him upon leaving office.

Do you want another 9 month of impeachment hearings in the house before the election? Clemency now, full pardon after the election.

They need to let this play out with Jackson and her decision to grant a new trial or not. If she doesn't grant a new trial, then commute the sentence for time served, or just pardon him. Considering that the people who put Stone in jail committed far more serious crimes, and are likely to get away with it, the President surely has grounds.

Absolutely. The injustice done to these two men is disgusting. The whole Mueller Investigation and Impeachment Scam was nothing but a political witchhunt. The purpose of which was to overturn the election that put Donald Trump in the oval office.

Mueller and his democrat Gestapo (headed by the democrat hatchetman Andrew Weissmann) knew they couldn't get Trump but at least they could indict people around him. The intent was to create guilt by association. They (Manafort and Stone) were indicted and convicted therefore Donald Trump must be guilty. Some morally bankrupt, corrupt, and evil people these democrats.

Drain the fricking city (Washington) American voters.

.....then let the DOJ (and the new AG) lock'em up.

I'm keenly familiar with the Libby case. Libby was as innocent of the Fitzgerald charges as Trump was of Russian collusion. The Libby trial was a complete travesty. Bob Novak's account confirmed that.
