Anybody happen to catch any of Gordon Lightfoot's farewell tour he's got going on?

I went to Gordon’s concert in BR last night - my third over the years with the first in 77 when he was in his prime. The instrumentals were perfect, not a note missed all night, and he played a solid 2 hour concert. But at 81 and with a few health issues his vocals are no where near you might hope but I knew that going in, and it was similar when I last saw him in BR about 6 or 7 years ago, and maybe has even fallen off a bit since then. That said, the audience loved him and you can likely catch a YouTube video of him from the last year or 2 to see what to expect expect relative to his vocals.

He told the audience his was his first concert in 5 months, they flew in from Toronto that morning, as he took a fall last summer and hurt his leg and he has a hematoma in the leg he is dealing with.- pulled up his pant legs to show the crowd his bandages. He also has sinusitis and on a few occasions between songs he’d have to stop, use some nose spray and tissues to deal with a runny nose - all in good fun and audience and he had a good laugh over it. Also complemented LSU over the national football championship.

If you are an avid G. Lightfoot fan, as I’ve am been for the past 4 decades, it’s worth it - I went b/c I expected to be the last concert I would see him.

I just realized the only song I know of his is The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

If you want to write songs, he is a good one to learn some things from.

My favorites are "Carefree Highway" and "If You Could Read My mind". I don't know if he wrote them, but he picked them out to record, and they are incredible songs.

In a 2008 interview, Lightfoot said:

I think my girlfriend was out with her friends one night at a bar while I was at home writing songs. I thought, 'I wonder what she’s doing with her friends at that bar!' It’s that kind of a feeling. 'Where is my true love tonight? What is my true love doing?'[3]"
