Just coincidence. Kuechly's retiring before his brain is Swiss cheese.

Coach O wrote down everything Brady knew and installed in his binder.
Lol, yeah maybe, but not necessary because Ensminger worked with him all year long and should know everything he ran, so LSU should be good.

It was worth it.

Maybe we will see him again down the road at LSU or with the Saints.

It’s the price of winning big.

Thank you for this season Joe Brady!!!

Thank you Joe! Not only did you completely change the nations perception of LSU, you also helped us get a ship. This season will have such a major impact on recruiting and we have the 2 Joes to thank for that.

Good luck in Carolina (except when you play the Saints ofc)

And how many arguments did I, and others, have with so many no nothing at all's who said "psshh, he won't leave after one year. Who would hire a guy with no experience?"

I wonder how those people feel about themselves right about now? I wonder if they still feel like Brady was just a side kick, and not really the architect of this offense? Do you REALLY think an NFL team would hire him as an offensive coordinator, if they hadn't done their due diligence to find out if he called plays for LSU?

And that's not a shot at Ensminger. I respect him for what's he's gone through, and sticking with this team in a very difficult time. But this is just reality. I said people would be after Brady, because it was clear he was the guy who changed the offense, and having years of experience doesn't matter like it used to. Just look at all of the head coaches who are right around Brady's age.

The only thing that upsets me about him leaving, more than the obvious of wanting him to stay, is that he JUST signed an extension, and then immediately leaves. I was certain he wouldn't be here for the remainder of his contract, but why sign if you were going to immediately leave? I can't say I respect that aspect of his departure. But thanks for your work while you were here, Joe.

The extension was his promise that he wouldn’t jump to another college as their OC. We all new it left the NFL open as an option.

Read what I said more carefully. I knew the door was open. It's always open, and that's why I said I didn't expect him to be here for the remainder of his contract.

What I have a problem with is signing an extension and then leaving DAYS later. You don't have to sign an extension to make some promise. Just make it clear that you wanted to go back to the pro's, and go. Promises mean nothing in contracts. If he wants to go back to college next year, he'll be able to do so. So who cares if he gets a college job now or next year?

But we knew the Panthers were after him, and why would he turn down an NFL job if he wanted to leave at all? My assumption when he signed the extension, was that he simply didn't want to leave yet. But then he leaves, anyway. It's pretty dumb how that played out. But, whatever.

Seems like they linked the extension to quiet the rumor mill. Who knows how real it even was.

Wouldn’t shock me if O and E knew he was leaving when they leaked it to dellenger

Is there any chance this isn’t final? Woodward isn’t shy about paying people; could we make a damn strong offer?

It’s not about money. He has a chance to take over a struggling offense in the nfl. If he can turn it around he is interviewing for HC jobs in 2 years.

I do not think many thought we could keep the guy. He came from the NFL and that is where he is going back to. Money and all. What I do not like is the negotiating that went on to keep him and then he leaves!

We’ll be fine.

We didn’t innovate anything. We caught up.

There are others who can run an rpo/spread just fine.

I just hope we keep his scheme. You have to think he shared a lot of stuff with E.

Burrow looked no different than Etling in the 2017 season with the Ensminger scheme.

Joe Brady was the difference this year. So happy he decided to come over even for a year, and produce the all time best season in CFB history. I am forever grateful.

Now here's hoping he shared enough with Ensminger so there's not a huge let down.

Thanks Joe! Here's to your success in the league.

To the downvoters and naysayers to my Morehead suggestion:

"I understand that this will likely mean lots of LSU/Saints buddies. But I wouldn’t rule out Brady putting in a call to Joe Moorhead, who was his first mentor at Penn State, runs a hell of an offense and is currently looking for a job."
