Is there some reason the Saints don't use Harris how New England uses Eldeman?

The guy is so quick, I'm sure we can use his skillset in the passing game.

He can’t be worse than Ginn right?

A wall is better at catching than Ginn.

This is a weakness for them that needs to corrected during the upcoming draft. They need speed opposite Thomas to have that downfield breakaway threat, Ginn is done. The kid from Bama would be perfect, Ruggs III I think his name is, dude is a burner.

Harris is still very raw in the passing game. He's fine on gadget plays & short passes, but it will probably take him about another 2 years to develop into a legit WR.

He may never develop as a WR. Not saying he will or won't, but he's a huge question mark as a WR. He'll always have a spot on the team if he keeps it up in the return game though.

As far as a WR stepping up this year...I think Tre'Quan has a better chance if it finally clicks, I think Ginn has a better chance if he would stop dropping passes, & I even think that Lil'Jordan or Butler have a better chance if they get called up from the PS. *edit* Forgot about Keith Kirkwood...I think he comes back soon.

I'd still like to try & get Harris a couple of touches a game on offense though. He might be extremely limited as a WR, but he's a play maker. If Harris gets the ball in space...the other team is probably screwed.

Long story short...it's up to CSP to put Harris in the right situation.

I actually like Harris better as a WR than I do a kick returner. Just him being out there and going in motion or running a fake reverse means that someone has to account for him. And he actually is a pretty good receiver with three catches on three targets.

I think he’s been hurt and that may be why we haven’t seen him play much on offense. (That and he’s probably been practicing like hell to learn to catch punts and thus not available for offensive snaps in practice.) And Hogan has been in more blocking for the running game.

I think we will see him carry the ball or have a play or two run for him in the playoffs.

Edleman has 4 inches on Harris and probably 20 or so lbs.

Yeah Edelman is built like a tank. Harris wouldn’t last a game taking hits like Edelman does

I think Taysom Hill more resembless Julian Edleman and the Saints could stand to put him in the slot more often or send him on a 9 route or a post more often. HE is a burner and probably the fastest man on the field.

Deonte Harris is 5'6. He is not a guy you want out there catching passes consistently. He is an end around, bubble screen guy at most.

A Harris jet sweep would be a fantastic wrinkle to add into the playbook.
