He wants so bad to say "but remember OLE MISS"

I can't tell you how many arguments I had to have with those people. Full disclosure, I was adamant at the time that - while I thought it was time for Les to go - it was insane to fire Les to hire O. Of course, that's not what Alleva intended - he fired Les to hire Herman or Jimbo and got stuck in 2 bidding wars. Just as Joe Dean did a generation before with Dinardo (another head coaching search that was embarrassing and painful for LSU), Alleva kind of stuck in his thumb and pulled out a plumb with O.

Now, once hired, a lot of these "fans" couldn't let things go. After O had his early troubles they would say, "But, but, but - OLE MISS!" - I had to remind them, "That's got nothing to do with his performance at LSU. It's irrelevant. That may have been relevant in considering whether or not to hire him, but we're past that now. Please stop talking about it in relation to what he is doing or not doing at LSU. It is, again, completely irrelevant."

Les hired O, Ensminger AND Aranda. I do agree the current team is mostly O's now and he deserves most, if not all of the credit, for assembling the team we've seen out there in 2019.

But you cats' hatred for Miles is misplaced and, frankly, unexplainable. The 2011 team went undefeated through the SEC-CG with JefferLee as QB. :letthatsinkin: Was that team using "Saban's" recruits, too?

I am at a total loss in explaining the complete disaster of that NC playoff game.

Under no circumstance can it be explained - I got nothing = most complete mystery in sports history as far as I am concerned.

Still seems like a bad dream, nightmare to me.

Nah the non football ignorant saw what was coming. I stated it for years. Miles ignored performance. Signs were there in the seccg. 7 straight 3 and outs. He expected to beat SABAN with the same garbage gameplan. Then he quit. He refused to play lee. He refused to go HUNH. he handed off and punted. He wuit against Bama. That’s unacceptable and unforgivable. That man wasted loads of national title talent. None of the above can you deny.

O is #1. This story keeps getting better. I doubted the man, but he has become something special.
Saban restored LSU to national prominence, but he was always going to leave for the NFL. I wish he would have realized he was a college coach before meeting Wayne Huizenga. He's #3 on my list.
Miles did a heckuva job maintaining LSU at a high level for several years. He loved LSU, but the frustration factor and Orgeron's rise puts him 2nd.
I started following LSU when Cholly Mac was at his peak(1969). I recognize his greatness, but didn't get to experience much of it. 4th.
Bill Arnsparger gets 5th because of his immense success. Too bad he only stuck around for 3 years.

Gonna need you to show your math. Miles won it all in year 3 and you say it wasn't his team. O would be winning in year 3 but it's all O's team?

To answer OP, this is tough. I was a student starting in 2003, so my LSU years were the golden era. I have such fond memories from 2003 and 2007 that it's hard have O surpass them. But this year has been an absolute joy.

Lets get real here - the difference this season is Brady, period. Before Brady, O had the program going backwards, losing to teams like Troy and getting shut out by Bama. He backstabbed his way into the HC position and was on the hot seat despite a 10-3 season.

Enter Joe Brady.

Now LSU has a damn good offensive guy to go along with our defensive guy. All Ed has to do is stay out of the way. Credit for the hire, sure, but some of you saying favorite? You're drunk.

Numbah ONE! He's living the dream and representing LSU and the state of Louisiana extremely well. There are two movies to be made about this season.
One will focus on Joe Burrow and the other will focus on Coach Orgeron. Opponents' dreams come to die in Death Valley, but for the righteous and the faithful it is truly heaven.

If he wins an undefeated NC, he will rank number one, obviously. But we haven't achieved that yet.

If he wins the next three games and keeps going like he is, there will be a statue of him outside Tiger Stadium in the not too distant future.

Gotta give Saban credit. It was his recruiting and vision which turned LSU from mid level SEC to the top.

Damone is an incredible douche. He should listen to what the Burrows think of O. He should listen to what Lawrence said about the change in the program since O took over.

Maybe that would should shut him and a few others up.
