1I'm building a new house, and wanting to do some smart home things. One problem in my current home is that my wifi doesn't reach well in some areas. I bought an extender a year ago, and it helps some, but for the new house I'm wanting to upgrade to make sure I have good coverage everywhere.
Is mesh the way to go? I am planning on wiring all TV locations with (I think) cat 6e, and running cable for a POE Camera system, but for complete internet coverage across the entire home, including 3 floors, is mesh the right choice? Brand preference?

Even if you don’t want to hang APs from your ceiling ubiquiti makes an in-wall access point that goes where you’d normally have a jack. Added bonus is it has 4 ports on the bottom as well.

I have 5 Google wifi nodes. I hard-wired 4 of them. One wireless. They work great and easy to setup. Not sure about the other brands, but you can't go wrong with Gwifi.

Mulitple wired APs is the better way to go if you have the option.
Also I recommend Ubiquiti as well. I've got 4 of their in wall APs in my house. Ubiquiti is the one that makes the Amplifi mesh wifi product if you've heard of that. I've never used it but I've read Amplifi and the Google mesh are the better ones. The Ubiquiti APs have the option to mesh too if they can't be hardwired.

What's everyone's thoughts on systems that support Wifi 6? Was looking at the nest but don't like that it doesn't support Wifi 6.
what about systems such as Arris SURFboard mAX?
note - I have Xfinity 1GB service, so looking to maximize it. I also have cat5 run thought my house, but will likely be moving in the next 6 months to a year, so don't want to put a lot onto something i can't take with me. (looking at moving into an older neighborhood where houses won't be wired)
