I have a few deer stands better built for two (working on phasing them out but that takes time) but need to put 1 adult and 2 kids under 10 in them. Does the OB have a suggestion for a small chair with a small footprint that I could use in a shooting house? I can do lap sitting but my youngest does much better with his own chair. TIA

I'd get the Millenium blind chair or one like it.

I'm lucky in an office setting that buys really cheap swiveling desk chairs and they need to be replaced every 4 or 5 years... The old ones as long as they don't squeak are ideal for this purpose. I've never purchased a chair for your purpose and would be heart broken if I had to.

It's not hard to find old office chairs being thrown out. Just ask around.

I've also been lucky at Goodwill. I've found small office chairs there for less than $5.

I go to Office Depot and get what ever is on sale with out arm rest. They bump into the walls and make to much noise. Make sure height can be adjusted.

We either keep a folder for a second seat or a smaller desk/computer chair.

I use one of the small folding chairs my kids sit in during ball season. When he's not hunting, it folds out of the way.

I keep a couple of short 1 x 6s and when there are deer out or he needs to see, I lay it across the arms and he can sit up on it to get higher.

Thanks for the replies ya'll.

I am an office owner and LOVE used office chairs have several. What I'm trying to find is a chair with a smaller foot print to squeeze a third chair into a two man box with my already established "worn out" office chairs.

You're trying to fit 3 asses into a 2 arse spot. You're gonna have to either switch to 3 small chairs or have someone sit on the ground.

When I started hunting as a child I was usually sent to the stand that had a 5 gallon bucket for a chair.

To OP. We built some stands for kids with a bench seat. Actually a bench seat for adult height and some boxes that we used as a booster seat. Cover box in carpet and its pretty quiet. We made it so we could put it under the bench to keep it our of the way.

Also kids that age need carpet on floor and walls to keep sound down.

We also bought for all our stands some of that 3/4" blue foam insulation board from Lowes. Cut it into arse sized pieces and sit on them. Keeps the cold from transferring into your butt. The foam is a hard insulation that will not hold water....

And another great idea for stands is to get some OSB and cut it to cover the windows during the off season. It may not keep the wasps out but it will keep the buzzards and owls from building nests in your stand. We just screw it to the inside of the house, then when we are cleaning up before season starts we unscrew it and screw it to the plywood above the window during season to keep it out of the way.

Me too, but he's not asking for him and he wants to fit 3 chairs in a 2 person blind.
