2014 was the year I got clean, and I somehow missed this album entirely, I was out of the loop for years on some of my favorite groups.

I'm a huge deftones fan and have been since '95., I actually met Chino and hung out with him after a Team Sleep show in 2002 at the Howlin Wolf in NOLA.

This album is amazing, I'm so glad I stumbled across it (found about it in the Deftones thread here)

It's such a damn good album, I can't believe I completely had no idea about it.

Every song is amazing on it, and I hope he continues this band and doesn't ditch it like Team Sleep.

This kind of music is what Chino is really about IMO, and it suits his voice well.

I'm bumping this, this could be my favorite album of all time , there's not many albums I can just play on repeat for days straight. I can just listen to this for weeks at a time

I love defones as well but there's just something special about crosses.

I hope he does more

It's one of my favorite albums as well, I hope they do another one at some point.

I was so stoked for that one, and while it was good, I absolutely hated the mix. I loved how Isis would build to a crescendo and hit the peaks perfectly, but the Palms sound surprisingly bottomed out when it would hit the climax.

I tried giving palms a listen but it seemed like to me the music was all written and then Chino just came in and added his parts. I didn't really feel it

Whereas crosses is expertly produced and they wrote the songs together and used Chino's voice amazingly with the vocal effects

It's damn near perfect

I’m a huge Deftones fan and a big fan of Far and I was a bit late on the album too, but I agree, it’s a great album. Chino’s vocals are nearly perfect, and Shaun Lopez is a fantastic songwriter and producer. Probably wishful thinking but I’m hoping one day we can get a Deftones/Far/Crosses mega tour.

Not only are the song structures perfect (I love far as well), it's the way they use effects on Chino's voice. It's the subtle things like delay, echo, flange, etc.

The production is just top notch. The fills in the drum patterns, etc.

Pretty much a perfect album, perfect showcase for Chino and he even manages to piece a few screams in there for good measure
