Propagandists at work: Bolivia

Leftist President Evo Morales of Bolivia was run out of the country in the last few days. Bolivians have described his ouster as a freedom movement and a return to democracy.
Here's the headline msn.com ran.

Don’t know... was he legitimately elected?

No. Hence being run out of the country.
ETA: And why are any of you surprised by that headline? Authoritarian leftists defend other authoritarian leftists.

Disputed election. Apparently there were irregularities.

Bernie and Omar both are blaming Western imperialists and are defending him and against the coup. That's all I need to know about this guy.

And that's a key difference between the left and right.
I took note of the activity in Bolivia, and I see the propagandists doing what they do, but I couldn't care less if Bolivia is run by socialists or not.
Leftists, however, are outraged when a leftist is removed.

I feel like South America has become woke recently

Morales tried to run again, when it was explicitly not allowed by the Constitution. A court ruled that running for office was a human right, and therefore the section of the constitution was invalid. Morales ran again, and won by a large percentage of the vote, but the percentage by which he won changed from 7% when 80% of the votes were counted to 10% after a certain number of days (I forget the exact details). I think the 10% threshold related to whether there would be a run-off.
Regardless, whoever is the leftist candidate in the next election has a high likelihood of winning, because there Morales was extremely popular among the working-class in Bolivia. Despite being a socialist, Bolivia's GDP grew by upwards of 200% since Morales took over, and the poverty level decreased by 10% or so. Bolivarianism will remain extremely popular in Latin America for some time, in my view, as the disconnect between the rich and the poor is so extreme that anyone who even expresses passing interest in the working-class will be popular.

I am going to look into this. My guess is they printed pesos for the people, and that never ends well.

When he then didn't get the votes necessary to win, he froze the election long enough to pack the ballot boxes before declaring himself the winner.
