I do this even when I go pick up my husband from the airport when he travels for work(he usually gets back in the late afternoon/evening). Get there early enough to sit at one of the bars enjoying a glass of wine before the security gate close to where he'll be walking off the plane. Great people watching and no one cares if you are sitting by yourself with a drink and your kindle at the bar.

Sad you have to get liquored up before your husband plows you

Oh he** yeah. Layovers too. I don’t understand clearing security 2 hours before a flight just to sit at the gate. I’d rather walk around and bar hop.

I find it more telling about how things are in the bedroom with your SO that this was your take on it. Speaking from personal experience are you?

And since when is one glass of wine getting "liquored up"?

Betting on arrivals and departures...

Seriously though, I had a 9 am flight to NYC this last Monday. Boarding at 830 and there were at least 3 guys with beers at the goose island bar by my gate.

I actually did think, damn, but still it always seems ok.
In domestic and overseas travel it is always 5o'clock some where. Now if those drinking are pilots I always wonder and cringe to know if they are off duty.

Depends on how big the glass is.

When I wasn’t saved, I drank all the time. I’d show up to the Lounge and drank them double and triples for hours. Be showing up to my hotel tanked on the other end after having tied one off for about 6 hours.

Sad, terrible, lost days I lived.

Last time I flew I had wine at the vino bar or whatever it is called in nola. Got off in Denver and had more wine at the exact same bar during my layover before continuing on....

Always arrive a few hours early and hit the delta lounge.

So on several of my recent Delta flights going through ATL, they have offered up to $800 to delay my connection by a couple of hours.

Needless to say, I have taken them up on this and hung out at a bar during the extra wait.

Expense it as a work meal and get an $800 Amazon gift card= Profit
