I haven't researched D a ton but it's definitely in my small daily supplement pack these days. I don't get out in the sun nearly enough right now.

Like others have said exercise, diet, get outside and do not avoid places. Reduce alcohol consumption. Try meditation or breathing techniques. Everybody feels stress to some degree so try to not let it drag you down.

I’d like to see a list of drugs you people are on.

I got on meds and have like the results but I can see why anyone wouldn’t want to get on meds.

You're doctor shouldn't of ever told you that unless he's prescribing a medication. Because he just created a problem. What a dumb***. That's good he referred you to a therapist and not medicine. You are lucky in that asset. I know the pain. It sucks. Over time you'll learn techniques to handle it. Sounds crappy but it's not. It will go away faster if you get busy into something else. ,something you haven't done before. It will be a after thought. Believe me not every doctor is the same. The therapist will help tremulously.
Supplements are a billion dollar industry. It just makes your urine more expensive. Unless your doctor recommends something, save your money.

My question is has anyone that had this get to a point where it is controlled? If yes can you describe what that felt like? Were you able to resume your life? While I find my mental state is improving I think about this daily and wonder if I will ever get to a place where I'm not thinking or worrying about it? I have no desire to take antidepressants but I wonder if that will be inevitable since what I've read states that anxiety doesn't ever really go away.
I have multiple anxiety disorders, and you can never fully control it. With a butt ton of therapy, I've gotten to the point where I see it almost as a different entity inside of me trying to make decisions for me (the devil on your shoulder if you will). Medication did help, but it also took away parts of me. Now I just live with it, and choose to ignore it most of the time.
I'm at my best when I'm working out constantly and letting both my mind and body be tired at the end of the day. It's tough to worry about the time you awkwardly hugged a girl in 6th grade if you're running wind sprints.

I hope for your sake you never have an actual panic attack. In this world of people constantly claiming to be "OCD" or other random things, I know it's easy to just say suck it up, but man when you actually suffer from the real deal it changes everything. I'm 31, have a CPA, work for a fantastic firm, but that inner demon is just relentless. I have a fun date, really like the chick, but that demon forces me to relive every single failed relationship, amplifying my part in the failures, and how can someone love you if x, y, and z always occur. Even when good things occur, your mind just amplifies the bad and worst case scenario.

Yep, because that was one hundred percent what I was looking for.

Slippery slope. Alcohol. Nothing helps anxiety like a couple beers. No worse panic than a hangover panic attack. Work and staying busy helps me, but the OP it seems got too busy. Everybody is different.
I wish you luck OP. It takes time but soon you start stringing days together where you don't think about it. Until you do... sometimes a trigger and sometimes not.
I take a klonipin nearly daily. I hate that I take it, but the alternative was no way to live.

No alcohol is an absolute must,
Let me just say, without reading the entire thread...this is the first thing that needs to be tackled. Trying to cope with GAD and continuing to drink with any, even a small amount, of regularity is an absolute destruction to a positive outcome.

I was diagnosed with GAD June of last year. I take 10mg of Lexapro daily. It has helped me tremendously.
I have also started intermittent fasting and keeping up a normal exercising routine and my anxiety hasnt reared its head in a long time.
The only problem I have is falling asleep at night but it's not due to my mind racing with terrible thoughts anymore, just cant fall asleep.
