When Drew went down I was fully prepared to be satisfied with a 6 seed as long as we fought like hell to make the playoffs. If Teddy keeps this up, we are most definitely still in the hunt for some home field advantage throughout. I was in the dome for the Bucs game and have a refreshed outlook on home field advantage. Who Dat!

With all that babbling aside, bring Drew back after the Bye as was expected. Even if he is a superhuman.

I doubt Drew or anyone reasonable thinks there is any possibility that Teddy plays over a healthy Drew this season.

But I could see Drew's concern for the future. Let's say Teddy continues to improve and look really good in the offense. Maybe not as good as a prime Drew but close enough. Is it crazy to think the Saints may decide to roll with Teddy next year or the year after over Drew, even if Drew wants to keep playing? Would the Saints take 2 or 3 more years of Brees and the unknown after, or 10 years of a TB that looks pretty good?

I don't think that is something that would happen (and not something I want to happen). And I don't think Teddy is that good. But with Drew's mentality it wouldn't surprise me if he's aware of that possibility. I think it's one of the characteristics that has made him great for so long.

5 days ago many thought Teddy wasn’t even an NFL QB on here, now one of the top 5 QBs in NFL history is worried he might be losing his job to him. There isn’t a sane person in the world who believes that to be even somewhat true.

Only chance Saints have of winning Super Bowl is with Brees under center this year!
Teddy is only 26 so he could definitely be the future and this sample size he is getting will likely determine that.

I said in another thread I believe Drew wants a warm up game before he would play his first game back against our biggest rival.
Would feel the same way.

The difference in Teddy and Drew on the field is that Kamara will get destroyed if Teddy keeps playing. The field is much more wide open for him when Drew plays.

He is not worried about Teddy. Brees brain isnt wired like that. If he thought that way he would have acted like an arse whenever they brought Taysom in to run a pass play over the last couple seasons. The dude came back from one of the worst injuries a qb could suffer. I think some doctors were saying he had like a 20 percent chance to get back. He obliterated those odds. After enduring something like that he is not going to feel threatened by anyone that does ok while he is out. I love Teddy and Taysom and I think they have a chance to be the starter in the future if Brees hangs em up after the Saints hopefully win the SB this year. If they do win Brees may want to try to defend it in 2020. Will Teddy stick around another year? Thats something else to think about

You can downvote all you want but next year the saints have 3 QBs to sign.

Question 1 - Do we extend Bridgewater again knowing Drew will be the QB next year

Question 2 - Do we sign Taysom back knowing Drew will be QB next year and possibly Teddy as backup again

Question 3 - How many years do the Saints want Drew to start and do we get rid of Teddy and/or Taysom if they want to start elsewhere

Question 4 - Let's say we extend all 3 next year, how much money will we spend and will this effect Kamara, Ramczyk, and Latimore's extension
