A stiff breeze makes the power go out in Nor Cal - for days - everything is above ground, it's so archaic...oh we'll just cut corners and rely on the perpetually good weather.

Uh oh, we're getting a little rain, some breeze - power out everywhere.

And it's the fricking trees. Every tree must be saved, every town and city has a preserve. These weak Pines fall over on power lines all the time.

California is a fricking Desert. But they planted billions of Pine trees everywhere...the weakest trees out there.

The original California Missions were built out of Adobe and Reeds because there were no fricking trees.

From the beginning of California's settlement, the issue was water. How to get water to the big new cities, L.A. and S.F.

But the State wanted to go big Ag, cattle and be the world's biggest Produce producer...in a Desert...oh and they wanted to plant lots and lots of trees...to transform the landscape.

California has always been battling these decisions - to transform a place against its will.

I had a video conference call with my San Fran coworkers and they said there was a chance they might get disconnected due to the outage. They were super annoyed and slacked me how dumb the whole thing was.

We still have a few smart people surviving over there, but they are almost done with it.

Had a pretty bad beetle problem a few years back that left millions of dead trees still standing, waiting on the next spark, but like the underbrush, they are left in their "natural" habitat.

Too bad this does not apply to the humans who insist on building in these vulnerable areas, insist on power, and then whine when emergency services cant get into these box canyons to get their arses out.
