Probably going in January as well. I know I’ll get told I’m dumb but any suggestions on adult only all inclusive. I’m sure there’s tons of better places and restaurants but when escaping from 2 kids and on my 10th anniversary I don’t want to have to think or pull out money when drinking and eating

Adult only all-inclusive doesn’t exist. Stay at Hotel Secreto. The odds of kids being there in January let alone any other month are nil. I’ve never seen children in that hotel unless you count my 29 and 25 year olds.

You really don’t want all-inclusive. The island has fantastic food of all cuisines and some of the best authentic cheap Mexican food I’ve ever eaten. Dinner for two with drinks at most places on the island is $30 or less.

It’s literally a two minute walk to Hidalgo Street and a cab ride anywhere on the island is $5. Sometimes less.

Hotel Secreto sounds like your best bet

If Secreto is good for adults is there a hotel you would recommend for a family?

check out the Finest by Excellence. we just got back. It is in Playa Mujeres right across the way from playa norte on Isla Mujeres. Awesome for Families!!!

Isla is a awesome day trip but the kids can get really bored quick. But there are a bunch of beach clubs that as long as you eat you can swim and play on the beach etc.

Captains Dulche's is a nice example.

HGG takes his family and they seem to have a great time.

Not on Isla Mujeres. Not even close. It's mainland across the Bay of Mujeres.

i know. I just got back sorry. I was posting from my phone. My parents are still there on their 19th trip to the Island.

My kids are 10 and 7.
Yes there is plenty for them to do...but personally my kids get burnt out really quick...and it was hot as hell all last week.

I am already planning my 40th on Isla next summer as we will be renting a house.

Isla has a navy base on the Island and is a safe place. We don't take the excursion package as we go the the ferry and ride over with the locals.

They just got new boats within the year and they are really nice.

The people there can not afford for tourism to take a dip. Our driver on the way back to the airport said it was the slowest spring break he could remember. The general feeling from the locals from the airport to around town is genuine and you will meet some of the nicest people there.

Agreed. I got back on Friday. I prefer it in the winter or spring. The weather is just perfect then down there.

Booked up Hotel Secreto for mid April. Finally convinced the wife that she isn’t fat, we aren’t going to get murdered if we leave the hotel, and that we will eat and drink better and cheaper than most all inclusive.

You’re both gonna be planning your return trip before you even leave Isla.
