Just read that the band formed in 1983. Fricking '83. I wouldn't have guessed that early.
Seen RHCP several times. First time was in November of 1985 at the LSU Cotillion Ballroom. Off the charts great small venue show. Back when they were still very young and hungry.

I’ve always heard the Hanson brothers could party with the best of them

When I was in the Navy back in the 90s, we ported in Yokosuka Japan. Three of my friends went to Tokyo on leave. They came back with pictures of them partying with Motley Crue. They had a great time apparently.

Iggy Pop would have been dangerously exciting to spend time with. Allin would have just been dangerous. In different circumstances that dude would probably have been a serial killer who tortured people to death. No thanks.

When I was in the Army, stationed in Germany, I was able to meet and sometime party with bands on tour. It was pretty easy to get invited backstage being a GI in Europe. There were many:
Partied with Pantera in Nuremberg. Invited to ride the bus to Frankfurt, but declined because the next night, in the same venue was Alice in Chains. Got backstage with them, but all Lane Stanley wanted was drugs. If you couldn't produce, leave. So that was that. Got a pic from dime bag and a drum stick from vinnie. Smoked hash with Phil. Drank a shitload of coors light! Fun night right there
Sat side stage with Guns and Roses in Wurtzberg...in the pouring rain.
Side stage with Motley Crue at the Monsters of Rock
Partied with W.A.S.P. Blackie Lawless is a monster at like 6'4. Rest of the band was blasted on cocaine. Whores.
Made it back stage by accident to the RHCP's in Frankfurt. Was pretty early in the day and looking for a pisser. Found an open door to the back area of the arena. Went in, bathroom was right next to the back stage area. So hung out for sound checks with The Rollins band and the chili peppers. Threw a nerf football around the arena with Chad for about an hour. Explained the whorehouse district to the band which, went appreciated. John was a recluse and could not understand why anyone would want an autograph from him. Cool dude, just wanted to be normal.
Met Suicidal Tendencies when they opened for Metallica in Nuremberg.
Partied with queensryche. Mindcrime tour in Frankfurt. GREAT show, btw.
Met the Beastie Boys in Amsterdam.
Though not 90's, met and hung out with Ted Nugent.
Good times

The problem for me is that I wouldn't be able to find a sufficiently large sock. So, there's that.
