The issue with not having will be the bitch on it is that he was the one touched by the upside down and not the others. It would be hard to explain why he wouldn't be connected while someone else got drug in.
With all the Russians gone when the military rolled in minutes late, we have to assume they took off with Hopper and he is the American at the end? I saw someone else throw it out that it was Brenner which would also make since as to how the Russians knew about it but how would the Russians know about Brenner to begin with?

So I finished this a few days ago after doing a rewatch of the first two seasons over the summer.
I liked it. I thought the Russians building a bunker under a mall in Indiana was a little far fetched and frankly unnecessary. The storyline with the left behind demogorgan and the pod people was plenty I thought.
I hate that Billy bought it. I kind of liked him.

My wife and I finished it last night. I told her the American in the prison is Hopper. The door that Murray and Joyce escaped through was right under the stairwell where Hop was standing before the explosion. The camera focused on that door for a reason after they escaped. Hop is alive. You gotta believe!

It was so lame to make Robin gay after they had such a connection.
The Steve character is weird he went being the popular stud in HS to a dork that hangs out with Jr High kids
The only pop culture mistake I noticed was in the last episode of S3 when Steve and Robin apply at the video store, the guy asks his favorite movie Steve says Star Wars and the guys says which one, A New Hope
