What’s got to happen for him to be on hot seat?

Last night was embarrassing.

If it’s going to be embarrassing, why not at least have the future out there?

How about some pressure to at least stop preferentially playing his former Crew guys?

Probably a racist remark about a country we’re playing. Short of that, probably nothing.

The USSF is fine with beating up on shite countries, and losing to average ones as long as they gettin that bank. That’s what sucks about being a USMNT fan, you can’t take pleasure in an embarrassing performance knowing at the very least the coach is on the hot seat...because 48 hours later (if that) nobody really gives a shite in our country. None of the people in charge face media pressure.

There is no pressure on the US manager. We missed the World Cup and all it was was a shrug from the sports media here or a “lol US soccer sucks.” He is safe as long as he has friends in decision making positions.

ETA: Think is Zardes was an NFL QB on a media focused team like the NY Giants or the Steelers. It would be on every talk show that he is not good enough and the coach needs to bench him. Maybe 15% of the non-soccer talking heads at ESPN know his name, and maybe 5% know Trapp. Berhalter can get away with murder because there is no one to hold him accountable.

His f'n brother is about to be the damn CEO of US soccer so his seat is not only not hot, it'll be ice cold.

Our best bet would be a team in MLS makes him a helluva offer to coach, but it ain't gonna happen.

Unfortunately, he will be the USMNT coach through this world cup cycle. If we are not in Qatar, he will be canned soon after we are eliminated. If we exit in the Group stage in Qatar, he will be gone after the World Cup. If we make a good run in the knock out stage, it is possible he could be coach into the following cycle.
