He can’t catch the ball, and lost too much weight trying to be a TE. He can move though, so they put him on D for now.

Kid needs to gain weight and slide into his natural position for his skill set.....OT

I know the recruiting services had him listed as an OT coming out of high school but what position did he play in high school? He doesn't seem to look at himself as an OT it seems either as he lost weight to better play TE or OLB instead of gaining weight to play on the oline.

I know O promised him TE, but the dude has only 1 high, pro-level upside position, and that is OT.

Whoever in his family (or network) that nurtured the idea that he was the next Gonzales or Gronk did him a HUGE disservice.

Move. To. OT.

Now, Wire and Rosenthal have the big jump there too.

He better commit to a spot soon.

That's because high school is not comparable to college, much less the SEC. Everyone in this league was the best player on their team in high school. Parker could be a great tackle because of his experience as a TE. He needs to wise up and quit fighting his potential as an elite OL.

He needs to realize what position he stands a chance at making a living which is OT. He needs to gain bout 50 pounds and get in the weight room. If he doesn’t this will be a wasted scholarship because he won’t see the field anywhere else.

He is a solid athlete. No reason he can't be a good DE

I’m curious who told him he needed to get down to 230 to play TE. At 6’5 230, he was one of the thinnest TE’s on the roster. 250 would’ve been a really good TE weight for him to play at, so I’m not sure what made him think he needed to continue to drop weight.

OTs, across the board, make WAY more money in the NFL than TEs. Not even close.

(and twice as many OT jobs as TE jobs available)

Watch him in practice videos running through DL drills. He is far from ready, not saying he can't make the switch but he has no experience runningthose drills. Looks like it'll be a few years if he is staying on DL

Depends. He still hasn't accepted the fact that he has the perfect frame and feet for Left Tackle, yet. He needs to find some arse this offseason (and no I don't mean railing half the Golden Girls), and start making the transition. Dude showed up on campus at 235lbs, and that isn't going to cut it at LT. He was all dead set he was going to be an all american TE, but the problem was he had hands like feet. Now he wants to try out OLB/DE, but he's got a late start to the party. IMO all he is doing is costing himself valuable time and learning at the LT spot, and possibly money in the long run.

Which one of our current LB’s does he think he can beat out at this point?
