need some advise peeps. have an LG OLED 65". sound from it does not travel well it seems, difficult to hear dialogue. thinking that a soundbar with directional sound would help.

thoughts?

eta: should add that i have 2 speakers in the ceiling running off of a Sonos Connect.

I tried the premium LG Dolby Atmos soundbar in the same kind of room. Didn't work well at all. Now have a serious sound system where I have thousands invested and it's a huge difference.

That soundbar, though, is awesome in a smaller room with my 50" plasma.

I have the definitive technology w studio. It sounds incredible. I wouldn't recommend it for critical music listening, (although it sounds pretty good) but for TV and movies the dialougue is crystal clear and the lows are shockingly powerful.

I can second the W Studio. I also have the W Studio Micro and it has great sound also with the ability to add two speakers for surround. The bigger version should work in a larger room. Accessories4Less has these quite often, refurbished, for a steal.

Don
Just suck it up and put five speakers in the ceiling and sub in the wall. You won’t regret it.

In ceiling speakers usually don't sound very good as main speakers.

They are great for surround or Atmos height speakers though.

how do you think the micro would perform in the bigger room?

the LG OLED doesn't sit very high, so i either have to use the micro or a playbase of some type.

assecories for less has it for $280.

either getting that or the ZVOX soundbase.

I think the Micro would be better than any play base type solution. It is pretty impressive for its size. You can give it a try and return it if it doesn’t work out. At that price it really is a steal.

Sonos playbar

I have a large living room open to kitchen/dining with 12’ ceilings. Playbar is perfect
