So Melonie, we have some questions for our local correspondent?

1. Are we absolutely sure that the text came from Ms. Wilson?
2. If so, one would assume that the Sheriff released this to someone- it appears to be a Snapchat of a screenshot.
3. Are there more texts? This message is pretty bad, but it does lack context.
4. What is the general feeling of the locals - is it "Oh, There's a Scandal," or "Oh, there may be election fraud" There's a difference. Scandal gets clicks and gossip. Election fraud gets handcuffs and disbarment.
5. Its possible that the "Ive slept with them, too" is not literal. What do you think?
6. Who is Ben, Stella and Josh?
7. I dated a girl from Grenada in college. She took me to Thunder on the Lake. Really cool event for.a small town. Do they still do that?

The town FB page is brutal! How do people pass each other in the grocery store after talking all the crap to each other?

Someone in the OP’s link commented on a list of the players involved in the text to make some sense into it.

quote:

Who is Josh, her husband? Josh Dale is an investigator with Sheriff's Office who she has had an ongoing affair with. She is still married with 2 very young sons. When the affair became public knowledge around the time that her youngest child was conceived, Josh Dale and his wife divorced, but Robbie's marriage survived it. A burning bush? Burning Bush Missionary Baptist Church is a large church composed of 100% black congregation. The leaders of the church are very politically active during elections and definitely swing the outcome of an election with their unity during elections. Who is Stella? Stella Cox, a black female who is very influential in the black community and how the black voters vote Rolando and Ro - same person? Yes, Rolando Fair, a black retired MHP officer, who is in a run off with incumbent, white, Sheriff Strider for Sheriff. Who is Kirk friends? This one is up for grabs. (1) Her opponent, one honest, good, Christian, respectable man who she beat by 66 votes is Adam KIRK. (2) KIRK Academy is a private school in Grenada. Without a doubt, parents with children who attend Kirk Academy, voted for Adam Kirk. (3)Also, Adam is a distant relative of the Kirk family who own KIRK the Ford, Toyota, GMC, Chevrolet, Jeep, Chrysler, car dealerships in Grenada that is run by the 2 KIRK sons who attended high school with Robbie years ago and have been Sheriff Strider's biggest contributor during his years in office. This is the VERY important issue in this entire fiasco that she's referring to in the text if you aren't from the area & only seeing what's being reported - Ben Williams, black former Grenada police chief, was the 3rd candidate on the Democratic ticket for Sheriff. The unofficial results of the primary were as follows in the SHERIFF'S race: Rolando Fair 1715 (33.69%) - Alton Strider 2202 (43.26%) - Ben Williams 1173 (23.05%) Get this - The primary was on Tuesday and on Friday, Sheriff Strider appointed his defeated opponent, Ben Williams, as his SO2 (which is the Sheriff's chief deputy who is 2nd in command only to him). It doesn't take a roccket scientist to figure out the back scratching in exchange for Ben getting his supporters to go with Strider in the run-off. This was also what set off Robbie because she felt that her lover, Josh Dale, was evidently not being "taken care of" to her satisfaction. So the black vote was split between the 2 black candidates with both of them also getting some support from the white voters who are ready to see Strider go. So she thought that she could get her lover a promotion and a good raise in exchange for her influence in the black community (Taylor Hall voting precinct in the highly populated district in the center of town that is probably 99% black & the extremely influential Burning Bush Church) which he desparately needs to be re-elected.

You are wrong. Kirk Academy was named for W.H. Kirk, who donated the original 30 acres of land in the 1960's. To my knowledge, W.H. Kirk has no relation to the Kirk family who owns all the car dealerships in Grenada.
