Tim Scott comes from a salt of the Earth blue collar family. He’s more conservative than Trump, but he’s not a Never Trumper. Proud to have him as a my Senator. Lindsey Graham is finally showing some balls, about damn time.

Tim Scott says/does a lot of things I disagree with....
but my instinct says that he loves this country and his actions are done in earnest, even if I don't agree with them all the time.
The alternative would be an America hating Democrat....the choice to me is clear.

Tim is pretty much owned by the special interest farmer lobby here in SC, particularly in the Florence to Myrtle Beach Pee Dee area and McBee, Dillon, Bishopville, etc., area.
Farmers may think moderate conservative but they vote and donate to whomever it is that promises them cheap illegals labor and that's just a fact.
Tourism may be our number one revenue generator in this state, but agriculture is a close second and they pull a lot of political weight, especially when it comes to Scott, who is in their pocket.
Just keep that in mind.

sounds like the people with legitimately the most power in the state, the farmers, get what they want by electing him....he is beholden to special interests in his own state, rather than Silicon Valley or DC or New York.
Would that be an accurate assessment? I am asking in earnest.

Not true at all what rooster said. For one, the area he described is mostly in the corridor of shame - that’s Clyburn’s district. Look up the demographics of his district. Hell just google him and you’ll get the idea.
Tim and Nikki aren’t the good ole boy GOP in the state. They aren’t Trump Republicans either - who are basically 80’s Blue Dog Democrats save for a few differences - they are younger and much more conservative than the previous generations of republicans.
I have my issues with Nikki, but I’m not touching on those. You and I both know why she did what she did with the flag and it had nothing to do with her personal beliefs on the issue. She should have just said she was going to put it on the ballot in the next statewide elections, but it’s over so I’m not going to cry over spilled milk that only a few thousand South Carolinians saw each day anyways.
