You would think so, except that has been a known bug for 4 years and Apple hasn't fixed it yet. Relying on that "closed system" for security rather than actually releasing secure software is just lazy.

This thread is addressing something that is not fixable. If a manufacturer wants to put malware on a device at the factory, the only thing you can do to protect consumers is to warn them about it.
