Just a heads up: Santa Maria is punching the greens today and tomorrow (back 9 today, front tomorrow). They're offering twilight rates for the inconvenience. Proceed with caution

Are they still punching with those 1" sized holes that make the next month like playing Plinko vs. the 1/4" most places use?

8 still has those two stupid 4 ft mushroom rings on it. The rest are fine.
I’ll walk a few holes this week and report back.

Yes. The guy was having to use one of those big shovels to move the punches off the green. Gonna be bumpy for a few weeks

Everyone seems to be punching soon.
Is there something special about the second weekend in August?

Maybe already posted , but 18 is also a temporary green. Looks like some bulkhead work going on.

he used 1/2" tines not 1" and 1/4" isn't the industry standard.

Greens recently punched, hole 5 is a mess with construction (tee markers are moved up next to the bunker) and a temporary green (flag in the middle of the fairway) on hole 18. Rest of the course is in good shape and they are offering a twilight rate.
