I just moved and updating tv and probably home theater. Not looking to spend a ton on the sound. I want to be able to hookup HDMI Arc and play music on it via WiFi (Google home likely). I got a Polk magnifi mini for my office and think it will be cool but won't know until I get WiFi tomorrow.

I like the idea of the Polk Magnifi Max just curious user experience here if any?

So do you want a wifi speaker or hardwired one w/ hdmi arc?

Or are you saying you want to be able to expand the hardwired one w/ wifi speakers?

Well I am assuming ARC is the easiest way to connect TV didn't really think my TV is probably wireless and I can cast to that.

It depends on the tv but many times you can set up wireless speakers with them, especially if you have a samsung tv and Samsung sound bar.

But I think I was misunderstanding your original question and you don’t necessarily want wireless speakers, just something to be able to stream music to. The soundbar you mentioned is a great way to do that.

I have zero experience with google home assistant or that product so if that system can do what I’m about to talk about then disregard. Getting a soundbar that works with Alexa would be a great way to get the streaming ability you want and to easily be able to expand with additional speakers later. Whether you went with the sonos or other brands, you can still get those same brand speakers or just add on with Echos to save money and set up different zones.

Thanks

I am fine with soundbar and sub not trying to do wireless surround.

So for like Polk mini in new office. I still need the Polk remote to pop it back to Arc mode if I play music. Wondering if Chromecast for tv is easiest answer
