AT&T and CBS Corp. have reached a multi-year agreement to carry CBS-owned local stations and national programming on AT&T's video platforms for subscribers in Dallas-Fort Worth and across the country, according to a release Thursday.
CBS' channels have been restored on DirecTV, DirecTV Now and AT&T U-verse, according to AT&T.

"CBS and AT&T regret any inconvenience to their customers and viewers and thank them for
their patience," the companies said in a joint statement.

6.6 million subscribers to AT&T's TV platforms were affected by the channel blackouts including more than 800,000 subscribers in the D-FW region, according to data from media and communication research firm Kagan.
The terms of the deal, which also includes carriage of the Smithsonian channel, were not disclosed.

The channel blackouts stretched 19 days for subscribers of AT&T's TV platforms after the two companies failed to reach a mutual agreement in negotiations by July 20.

The companies were at odds over CBS' rising retransmission fees – a fee charged by broadcasters when TV providers wish to carry and resell their programming to customers. CBS has been shifting its reliance off of advertising and increasing the fees it charges to carry programming instead.

AT&T remains involved in an ongoing contract negotiation with Irving-based broadcast TV station owner Nexstar Media Group. Nexstar owns 174 TV stations across the country including roughly 30 in Texas.

You can add New Orleans and the Northshore to the list.

I live in Metairie and get fox and now CBS again on DTVnow. Are you saying New Orleans and north shore don’t get those channels and I do. Seems odd.

ETA: I stand corrected. CBS looks to be gone for the foreseeable future.

College football start on August 24th. If CBS isn't back on Diretv Now by then, I'm dumping them, and it will be the last time I ever do business with AT&T.

Same. Still no CBS on DTV Now. If I don’t get it by football season I am going with either YouTube tv or Hulu.

I'd like to think they have to have this flagged as a milestone date.

Considering the revenue involved and what’s at stake, someone has to cave by then. I’d bet it’s ATT because CBS likely won’t give 2 shits if ATT holds Out because with other providers and the ability to watch CBS over an antenna, it likely isn’t a major concern to them. I could be wrong but I suspect CBS has the bargaining power.

This is what is causing me issues. Apparently Fox14 in Monroe is owned by Nexstar, I had no idea they were in a dispute until I tried to watch the Saints Friday night and got the "Regret any inconveniences" message.

They had better fix this by opening day or I am going to write a strongly worded letter to all parties involved.
