Women authors in fantasy - Do they belong?

I read the Rhapsody Series a while back. It had a decent story. However, i couldn't tell if i was reading an action fantasy, or a porn/romance novel.
What are your thoughts on Rhapsody, and what other female fantasy authors have you read? Did you like their style?

Isn’t Ursula LeGuinn a legend in fantasy circles.?
NK Jamison’s Broken Earth has been well reviewed by many fantasy fans on this site and others.
I believe Robin Hobb also has a good rep as well.

I read far more male fantasy than female, but there are a number of excellent female authors out there.
NK Jemisin as memphis mentioned is superb, and Robin Hobb's Fitz and the Fool books (and all the books made in the same world without them too) are excellent as well.
Lois Mcmaster Bujold's Vorkosigan Saga is outstanding. SJ Kincaid's Insignia series is very solid as well.
Rowling and Harry Poter of course, whatever you may think of the series.
I've never read Earthsea and LeGuin, but obviously she's one of the most famous old school authors along with Bujold.
SO they are out there, just outnumbered by the Laurell K Hamilton types.

Love the series. It was a coming of age series. A bit different then most fantasy i have read.
I'll have to check out NK Jemisin.
Elizabeth Haydon was a little much for me. She had people using their elemental powers as sex toys. It seemed to lack the infrastructure needed in a six book series as well. Historical background of the world setting is important.

Robin Hobb's Farseer Trilogy is very good.

Perhaps the problem is that that's a young adult series, and not really that the author is a woman.
Do other authors that you don't enjoy, regardless of sex, belong or is it only authors you enjoy?

Are you seriously asking if Marion Zimmer Bradley, Anne McCaffery, Mercedes Lackey, Ursula K. Le Guin, J.K Rowling, and Robin Hobb "belong" in Fantasy?

SJW take over science fiction
Just like every other institution, leftist are running the show. How they do it is a book ready to be written.
Just in today's news, planned parenthood has new leadership with a more activist agenda.

It’s been obvious for a long time in publishing that men need not apply, you’re not welcome. But now in the 2% where men were actually allowed to compete, it’s been completely taken over by social justice warriors who don’t care in the least about equality, but want to actively harm men both as professionals and readers.

Likewise I have read male fantasy authors who I enjoyed and those I didn’t like.
Bottom line to me is if you can build a world and tell a good story I will read it, don’t think it comes down to sex of the author. Rather it comes down to talent IMO.

Anne McCaffery
Underrated. The Dragonriders of Pern is some of the best stuff ever.

You forgot Melanie Rawn.
And as for your comment about keeping politics off this board, welcome to 2019 unfortunately. This is simply the result of politics being injected to every aspect of our lives, to include SciFi/Fantasy.

One of the best writers in Science Fiction, easily. I hadn't read her since the 1970's but recently did The Lefthand of Darkness and The Lathe of Heaven on Audiobook (because they were on sale and cheap) and both really hold up well.

Other than Rowling, I avoid female writers regardless of the genre

You are avoiding a great many wonderful books. It's weird when people boast of their purposeful ignorance.
